I doubt he can stop him salido has a pretty damn good chin.

Juanma better box and jab cuz he couldn't get out of the way of that right hand. I mean salido couldn't miss.

I'm favoring salido but I hope juanma can pull it off. Call me crazy but I'd still like to see Gamboa vs Lopez at some point, maybe at 130
Gamboa vs Lopez is still a great match, hope it goes down some day. Gamboa is not on good terms with arum tho

Salido's been getting wobbled up more than normal. If this fight would've happened immediately after I would've agreed here, but he may be able to score a stoppage here.

Has he? I haven't watched him since the lopez fight
Dropped twice in his last fight alone against a guy I had never seen or heard of. It could be a case of taking the fight lightly with it being a non title/stay busy fight. I also thought he didn't look too hot against Yamaguchi, but Yamaguchi has that strange style.

how is chavez too big for Pavlik? Pavlik was a big middleweight, he weighed around 180 the last couple times he fought at 160. Chavez is 6'0 and Pavlik is 6'2.

If they fight, it will be the first time in a long time where chavez doesn't have a big size advantage.

Pavlik is done as fighter until he proves otherwise in the ring against someone good. Chavez Jr is too big for him.
Chavez Jr. is much faster.
I watched an interview and Pavlik was saying his speed is coming back, but I doubt it. it's going to look like Martinez all over again, but maybe not as bad.

Pavlik should fight Williams.

He has a fight in a couple weeks so that will shake off rust.

And I don't get what you're saying he's monitored closely? They aren't psychic. Upsets happen all the time when guys think they know their fighter will win.

What they are thinking is that pavlik is safer than fighting martinez and it's a credible name but there is still risk. I don't care what anyone thinks pavlik was a good fighter he beat Jermaine Taylor twice and as a tune up he smashed Rubio with ease and Rubio is the best opponent chavez has ever fought which was a tough fight for him despite the huge weight difference.

Now I'm not saying pavlik is the same fighter he was, mentally he may never be the same but even a 50% pavlik should beat chavez who honestly pretty much sucks ass he's one of the biggest jokes of a "champion" in recent times.

Pavlik exposed Taylor. It was all downhill for him from there on out.
I just don't think he was as good as he was proposed to be, plus to add on top he's not as good as he was before.
Where as Chavez Jr is underrated and is getting better as he goes.

Pavlik beating Chavez would be as you said, an upset.

What's up with these stupid Showtime twitter comments lately. There are people literally "tweeting" showtime like "JTown530 says - Oh wow, Mickey Garcia is the truth" and it pops up on the TV and I'm almost forced to read this crap. Showtime needs to stop the tweet comments.

Pavlik actually proved his worth though whereas Chavez is all hype so far. Taylor was a fantastic win for Pavlik, Taylor always had a ton of skills. Chavez has never fought anyone even as half as good as Taylor was. Pavlik deserves credit he won some good fights and only lost to guys that would destroy chavez.

Anyways, Garcia looks technically good as always just hope he picks it up a bit and finishes the show.

I'm not taking away from Pavlik. I'm going with momentum.
Chavez has a ton and Pavlik has none. If you have to put it on a graph, basically Chavez's stock is on a consistent rise and Pavliks stock basically crashed. It's mostly about direction. Can Pavlik come in and blast Chavez out? Sure. I wouldn't be super shocked if he did.

Ha, the fight is rumor anyways.

The commentators were bagging on Garcia this whole time. How he isn't a good closer, he needs to pick it up, etc.
He gets a KO and now all the words are praising him and his style. He had a solid game plan from the beginning. Took minimal damage and got the KO.

Yeah I know pavlik went down hill with his drinking and all but he's with Garcia now and he's in Cali, I think a new trainer and new environment is what Kelly needs. Its not like he's old or has taken a ton of punishment the problem was his mindset and I've liked his attitude in the interviews I've seen compared to the bitter angry pavlik of old.
