Friday Night Fights' comes out swinging

2011 will have 31 cards instead of the 29 which we got in 2010.

They are going to have 22 of the 31 start at 9PM EST.

"And we will have new animation, graphics and music that we will incorporate early on in the season, as well as the addition of ultra slo-mo and a first-ever 3-D telecast for our ESPN3D subscribers."

-Doug Loughrey (ESPN Boxing Program Director)

The network also has more latitude to pay greater license fees than it has in recent years, depending on the quality of the card.

-Dan Rafael's article on ESPN.com

Each show will also be carried live on ESPN3.com and simulcast in Spanish on ESPN Deportes.

"We will also look for more opportunities to do live boxing content on ESPN3.com in 2011,"

-Doug Loughrey (ESPN Boxing Program Director)

^~~ That's great news. It seems ever since they cut off WNF (which I thought sucked at the time) they've been more selective on what they put on and are putting far better matchups & and more important fights. There's not many cards that are full of mismatches. Prospects are getting better tests in the main events, you had some title eliminators & even some solid title fights.

Provodnikov disappointed. I didn't like to hear Provodnikov told the ESPN crew when they asked him "what have you been working on?" he said "nothing. I'm going to show you the same stuff I always do."

That shows he's not trying to progress as a fighter and it showed last night. He needs more to his arsenal. He needs to improve certain areas of his game. He cant just be simply a straight forward power guy ever single fight or he'll lose to guys who can take his punches and can move well every time.

its funny cuz I kept thinking how scary it would be fight him. I think he won the fight but he needs to throw more combinations, to predictable of a fighter.
