Im pretty upset right now, Hopkins outworked Pascal so badly. Unfortunate he was knocked down in the 3rd round, we all know it was a bullshit knockdown in the 1st round.

haha, did you watch it again heresy? I think 16 of those people were french canadian and pascal relatives.

hopkins is very unpopular over on that site too, one of the most hated in boxing.
I'm gonna watch it later on. Probably tonight but will watch it again. IMHO, Hopkins didn't show up until the later rounds, he gave up round five, got knocked down twice (one was extremely questionable I know, but the ruling stands) and never seemed to have Pascal hurt or running and unwilling to exchange with him.

Let me get my second viewing later on and that may change. However, if they do fight again, I'm still going with Hopkins in the 10th.

Just like I thought Pascal isn't giving Hopkins the rematch and the WBC isn't going to demand it. By the time Hopkins can get another crack at Pascal he could be 47 years old!

Pascal's Promoter: WBC Will Allow Dawson Rematch First

By Lem Satterfield

According to Yvon Michel, promoter for WBC/IBO light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal, the WBC's President Jose Sulaiman will not stand in the way of Pascal's contractual obligation to rematch Chad Dawson, before taking a rematch with Bernard Hopkins. Michel wanted to clear up the situation after Hopkins' promoter, Golden Boy Promotions' CEO Richard Schaefer, said Sulaiman would order an immediate rematch.

Pascal and Hopkins fought to a controversial twelve round majority draw on Saturday night at the Pepsi Colesium in Quebec City, Canada. American judge Steve Morrow had it for Hopkins, 114-112, but Canadian official Jean Claude Paquette and Belgian official Daniel Van de Wiele scored it even, respectively, at 113-113, and, 114-114.

"Look, we are definitely going to give a rematch to Bernard Hopkins. It would be our choice that it would be the first choice to fight Hopkins. But if we have to fight Dawson, then, it's Hopkins right after," Michel said.

"I would say that the Dawson fight would definitely be in Canada because Chad Dawson has no drawing power in the United States. For the other fight, with Hopkins, Jean said that he is willing to go anywhere to fight him. It's not a problem as long as the the revenue is close to or superior to what we can have here."

They should cash Dawson out, grant Hopkins a rematch and fight here in the states.

so I just checked my 5dimes account and to my surprise my wager I played on hopkins to win the fight was refunded. I always thought that if you put money on a fighter and it's a draw, you still lose the money since your fighter did not technically win?

It varies book by book, but the rule of thumb is that your money is refunded unless the option to bet on a draw exists.

My book didn't have lines to bet on the draw, so it would have been refunded (if I picked a side). Just like soccer (which the option to play the draw always exists).

They stopped allowing you to bet on the DQ though. Back when Golata kept hitting low...
To easy to fix.
