I doubt Hopkins is dickriding him though. It's merely respect towards a fighter who thoroughly beat him since no one else did besides RJJ over 20 years ago. Now I don't deny that there is a bit of hype in there with HBO involved as well, but I think it's genuine respect at the end of the day. Also, Kovalev was not hurt at any point in the fight. Stunned, yes. Whenever Pascal landed a bomb, Kova would initially defend/clinch or fight off the flurry of shots then go back to what he was doing all along -- being the aggressor. I just wish he threw his jab more often to setup his shots because each time he did that he was successful.

imwatched the post fight shot from Hopkins and Kovalev, saw more of it last night and it made me sick to my stomach. It went past mutual,admiration and passing the torch. The man was on his knees.

The WBC will enforce it but will Haymon allow it? That is the million dollar question. We already saw how Peter Quillin had to drop his title and turn down $1.4m rather than fight his mandatory (because it didn't fit into Haymons PBC plans). I think the only way it happens is if it goes to a purse bid and Haymon wins. Then we got a fight and perhaps it would be on NBC or something. But then again maybe not. Haymon seems to have specific plans for his PBC Championship boxing series and I'm not sure he'd want to risk a non Haymon fighter taking out one of his guys, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Was a good fight got Gomez. Didn't let himself get into a brawl or anything and beat Kamegai pretty easily besides the last couple of rounds when he was clearly gassed. This and the Paredes win back to back should get a decent fight.

Comrades, someone make an April thread for me please. Been in the ICU since Saturday, my girl struggling to stay alive with severe pneumonia in both lungs. They nearly put her in a medically induced coma yesterday because her condition has only been getting worse, no response to any antibiotics or medicine. She made some minor improvements shortly before their deadline, been up this whole time just holding her hand watching her fight so hard to breathe. Real fucking nightmare. Send her some good vibes comrades, she's a great girl, and she has the sweetest daughter she needs to care for. I post here and there when I can to try to escape reality for a few moments, it's like a bad dream, I'm so exhausted. She's a fighter, she'll pull through but may be here for weeks. What a nasty illness to get, especially when it's this severe and life threatening. Fucking hell.

Bro, I just went through something similar with two of my sisters. One passed away in February from pneumonia and the other pulled through last week. STAY BY HER SIDE. She is going to pull through but make sure you stay by her side. Not just for moral support but to also keep an eye on the doctors, but more specifically, the nurses or whoever is administering fluids, medication, etc. These hospitals do NOT have the best interest of the people in mind. Doesn't matter if you're black, white, purple, whatever.

I know you don't believe in prayer but I'm sending good vibes to you, your family, her and her family, specifically her daughter, and everyone else she touched. It's going to be a roller coster ride but stick by her side and keep your head up, bro.

Sadly things took a turn for the worst today and they had to put her in a medically induced coma. Turns out it's more serious than pneumonia, it's something called Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), which is something I know very little about, but from the frantic research I've done past couple hours it's serious business and she's in for a fight. I don't know if she had pneumonia and it turned into that, or what, but she had the many precursors for a perfect storm, history of asthma, pneumonia, bronchitis. She's a fighter though it's what she does so I know she'll get through this. She's going to be with me on my birthday watching Pacquiao vs Mayweather. This will happen.

All the best to her...damn. Never underestimate an illness regardless how insignificant the symptoms may appear. When my mother got bacterial pneumonia, we didn't waste much time and got her to hospital within 24h of the onset of symptoms. Luckily my dad's expertise and intuition was key in her recovery, otherwise fuck if I know how it may have ended. Gives me chills just thinking about it. ARDS is a horrible thing to get because even if you do survive, the consequences can be debilitating. Lets hope it's not septic at this point. She'll need every bit of help.

Doc told me today they're going to keep her under for at least a week or two so that her body can recover and heal. It's so hard not to be able to communicate with her, to see her like this, but I know it's what her body needs. She would absolutely hate tubes down her throat and unable to do anything for her self, so I'm sure it's better this way, to just sleep and not be aware of anything. Sucks but Doc assured me she'll be ok, just takes time to heal. He said he believes she'll recover and be normal once everything is over. Told me I should go home and rest myself since I live right down the street, sleep and eat, which I've done very little of since Saturday. So exhausted . You guys know I don't get too personal on here, so thanks for being supportive and allowing me to get some stuff off my chest.
