Zab judah was shot as fuck and now khan wants ancient morales? The more these guys beat up far older has beens, the more respect i get for floyd fighting a young hungry fighter...hate saying this lol
Judah wasn't "shot as fuck" being that he just won the IBF strap and beat Matthysse just prior to that.

Anyways, it's not certain if Khan vs Morales will happen. This FNF's bout between Victor Cayo and Lamont Peterson the winner will become Khan's IBF mandatory #1 challenger.

Khan wants to fight in December.

Morales is fighting in September (on the Floyd undercard) and he would of course have to win, which is no gaurantee and be healthy and ready to fight just a few months away, which seems very unlikely.

The other possibility is that Khan will fight The Ghost vs Maidana fight.

It seems most likely Morales will not be Khan's opponent, at least not any time soon.

Don't confuse Zab being a B tier fighter with being shot.

Zab Judah is 33 years old (Pacquiao is 33, Floyd is 34, etc). Judah loses his big fights because he's not an elite fighter.

We already established that Judah wasn't the first choice. Tim Bradley was but turned down a career high payday and is moving to 147 pounds because he HOPES to fight Pacquiao/Floyd. Next in line was Judah, who owned a belt and it was a unification bout. Khan always stated his goal was to unify 140. He has two of the four belts now.

Khan wants morales, check eastside.
From yesterday:
"We were actually notified by the IBF that there would be a mandatory for Amir, which would be the winner of the Peterson-Cayo fight," said Schaefer. "So, we'll have to see how we're going to deal with that once we know who the winner of this fight is."

Additionally:
“It could be Morales. He’s going to be fighting on the Mayweather card here, so that can be a possibility,” Schaefer said. “It could be the winner of Maidana and Guerrero...you have Devon Alexander as well. You have even Lucas Matthysse who gave a hell of a fight [to Judah].”

Hes gonna fight floyd when floyds like 40. Khan is on some faggot danny green shit
wow you're an idiot. Khan has beat Judah, Marcos Maidana, Paulie Malignaggi, Andriy Kotelnyk, Dmitriy Salita. All highly ranked guys at 140 (Judah was #6 remember?). Danny Green didn't fight any top guys in the division.

The only two guys Khan hasn't fought is bradley (which obviously wasn't khan's fault) and devon alexander, who has looked like shit in his past 3 fights and just moved to 147 pounds.

He also said he wants to fight Mayweather next year.

“The plan will be to have Amir fight at 140 [pounds] in December in the United States, then at 147 in the U.K. after that to make his debut with the fans there,” Schaefer said. “Then if it all goes well, the plan is to go for the big fight, Floyd Mayweather.”

So clearly you're hatin on Khan for all the wrong reasons.

by Robert Elmore: With the announcement of Floyd Mayweather’s come back against Victor Ortiz, many interesting things have happen. The most interesting thing is that Freddie Roach is eager to put the WBA/IBF champ in the ring with Mayweather.

Floyd has even expressed interest in fighting in the UK. But the talk of this fight raises one question. Will Roach be in the corner of Khan if he fights Mayweather?

The Floyd/Pac saga continues as Mayweather’s gears up for a come back fight after taking a year off since dismantling Shane Mosley. Floyd has stated Pac is next. But now it seems Khan is the front runner to face Money May. Khan has said he will do the blood testing May wants. This fight is easy to make seeing that Khan is promoted by Golden Boy. However, I think Roach is in a bad spot with this one. If the fight goes on and the testing is done, the public will really scream for the May/Pac fight. They probably will ask “How come Khan took the test and not Pac”? If he doesn’t train Khan for the fight and is not in the corner, then the speculation will rise also. The media might ask “Why didn’t you train Khan”?

Either way Pac and Khan fight out of Wild Card gym and for one fighter to take the test and not the other would seem fishy. Could this be the reason Khan is asking for a 50/50 split with Money knowing that he hasn’t really accomplished that much to ask for such a thing? It sure is an easy way to get out of fight. But if Khan fights May before Pac, Roach will have some explaining to do.
LOL. Mayweather is backing Manny into a corner talking about fighting Khan and Khan agreeing to random testing. When are the Manny fans going to admit that Manny and Top Rank is running from Floyd?

I'm serious. I see hella crazy shit coming from his camp, so much confusion. They could be giving him some shit without him knowing it, I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt because he has never been implicated, has always has clean tests, etc. I think Manny is a real pious cat with nothing to hide, but I think others around him may have something to hide. Something ain't right over there are Top Rank. A lot of shit ain't addin' up.

Gomez: I plan on dying in the ring to beat Saul Alvarez

Chris Williams: Overmatched No.6 ranked WBC contender Alfonso Gomez (23-4-2, 12 KO’s) says he’s ready to go out and die trying to beat World Boxing Council junior middleweight champion Saul Alvarez (37-0-1, 27 KO’s) on September 17th at the Staples Center, in Los Angeles, California.

Talk about being a little over the top. Gomez needs to relax. He doesn’t stand a chance against the young 21-year-old Alvarez, and the only reason he was picked was because he’s not much of a threat because of his lack of power, speed, height…etc. He’s basically just a punching bag for Alvarez to get an easy payday against and look good during the Mexican Independence Day weekend.

Gomez said “I plan to go in and die in the ring to win this fight.” Come again? How can you win if you’re dying? That’s just like trying to win a war by jumping off of a cliff. Gomez needs to come up with a good plan to try and out-box Alvarez, because he’s too slow, weak and small to slug with Alvarez. If he tries to trade with him, he’s going to look mighty silly.

I don’t know where Alvarez’s promoters dug up Gomez, but I don’t rate him in the top 20 in the division. He’s like No.25 in my rankings. I’d much prefer to see Alvarez at least fight someone that give him a good test. If he wants to bottom feed then I would rather see Alvarez fight Erislandy Lara, Anthony Mundine or Carlos Molina. Those guys would give Alvarez a good fight and wouldn’t just get wiped out the way Gomez will. But I don’t want the guy dying in a hopeless cause. He doesn’t stand a chance and it’s pointless getting his teeth knocked in for nothing. I just hope the referee halts the fight when the beating gets too bad.

Amir Khan is on the exact same stuff pacquiao is own and Khan gets randomly blood tested year round cuz the British rules are different. At worst at the worst top rank isn't bending over backwards to make the Floyd fight cuz there are still big money fights out there. Likewise Floyd hasn't bent over backwards to make the fight happen for the same reasons

Anyways there was a rumor I heard today that pacquiao contacted Floyd in attempt to make the fight happen behind arums back. Again that's a rumor but if true it would suggest pac wants the fight and maybe arum doesn't just yet.

All of this is just talk. The truth IMO will be shown after their upcoming fights.

Arum on Mayweather-Ortiz, Pacquiao-Marquez, More

By Michael Marley

Maybe it was being cooped upon a transcontinental flight from France to New York.

Whatever the reason, globetrotting promoter Bob Arum was a real Chatty Kathy when he rang me up Thursday afternoon to discuss his take on Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and other boxers.

Arum and wife Lovee are extending their vacation in the rarefied seaside air of the Hamptons over the weekend but the Top Rank top dog gets back to work fulltime next week starting with making a final decision as to whether HBO or Showtime will handle Pacman’s Nov. 12 trilogy title bout against Juan Manuel Marquez, the Pinoy Idol’s Mexican archrival.

We’ll get to that, a topic I feel Joe Fight Fan is not that keen on anyway, but probably the most tantalizing verbal tidbit Uncle Bob had to offer was how the Mayweather-Vicious Victor Ortiz HBO Sept. 17 PPB bout turns out.

Go figure, but Arum claims he hopes it is a barnburner.

“I’ll tell you the truth,” Arum said, “if they put on a good fight, a fight that the fans like, well then it helps us on Nov. 12.

“If that fight is a stinker, then it will hurt us. You get a buzz going forward from an exciting fight and you get hurt by a stinker when you’re the next event after that. So this is why I want Mayweather-Ortiz to be a good fight.”

Well, why wouldn’t it be compelling giving Ortiz’s returned aggression, I asked Arum.

“Because you don’t know, you never know, how Mayweather will fight. Is Mayweather going to enghge the guy or is he just going to jab and move, jab and move.”

Arum has little doubt as to the winner of the bout.

“If Mayweather just boxes, just does enough to win, then he wins. The kid (Ortiz) is very inexperienced in many respects and I’ll tell you what I don’t like is that he lunges a lot. He punches in a lunging way and he leaves himself open like that. He may be made to order for Mayweather.”

Arum said he is examining and then re-examining the final, complete offers for Marquez-Pacquiao III as made by Showtime and HBO.

The promoter revealed that the broadcast deal is a one off although “we thought about making it for two bouts.

“This is a tough decision and we have a lot to consider from both. But we will make a decision in the middle of next week,” Arum said.

As far as an eventual Mayweather-Pacquiao showdown goes, Arum said silly remarks like one recently made by Floyd Mayweather Sr. don’t help the situation.

“Floyd’s father said, if they fight, Pacquiao has to do all of his training here in the United States.’ Who ever heard anybody ever say something like that and who knows why he says that?

“You can’t tell someone where they have to train.”

Khan could get stripped of his WBA title if he doesn’t face Maidana-Guerrero winner

By William Mackay: If IBF/WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (26-1, 18 KO’s) doesn’t fight the winner of the August 27th fight between Robert Guerrero and Marcos Maidana, Khan will reportedly be stripped of his World Boxing Association title according to Bolton News. Khan hasn’t defended the WBA title since taking an optional defense against Paul McCloskey last April.

Khan’s trainer Freddie Roach reportedly doesn’t want Khan to fight Maidana again, no doubt because of how close Khan came to getting knocked out in his win over Maidana last April. Khan was staggered in that fight and took a ferocious beating along the way to winning a 12 round decision. Khan only plans on fighting one more time at light welterweight before moving up in weight to the welterweight division and he might not care if the World Boxing Association strips him of his belt.

The opponents that he’s looking at fighting in his next bout are as follows: Erik Morales, Maidana-Guerrero winner and the Breidis Prescott vs. Paul McCloskey winner. It’s highly doubtful that Khan will face Maidana if he emerges as the winner, and same goes for Prescott. Maidana and Prescott are probably too dangerous for the tender-chinned Khan.

But Guerrero, who is moving up in weight from the lightweight division and seems to have lost his power in moving up three divisions in the past two years, is someone that Khan might be interested in facing if he beats Maidana. Guerrero is slow and more of a technical boxer like Khan. He’s not someone Khan will have to worry about getting knocked flat against like he would if he faced Maidana and Prescott again.

^^this writer is a fool, Guerrero would be the biggest test out of all those guys. He basically made it seem like Guerrero is some easy target. Stupid.

The writer didn't mention that tonight's Cayo vs Peterson fight the winner becomes Amir's IBF Mandatory. So that's a possibility as well.

Suit vs. Floyd Mayweather dismissed

LAS VEGAS -- A Nevada judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by a nightclub bouncer against Floyd Mayweather Jr. that alleged the champion boxer and his entourage became violent after they were carded at a Las Vegas hotspot.

Clark County District Judge Kenneth Cory dismissed the lawsuit without a hearing last week.

The lawsuit was filed in May by Clay Gerling, a bouncer for the Drai nightclub at Bill's Gamblin' Hill on the Las Vegas Strip. The suit claimed Mayweather's bodyguard choked Gerling after he asked Mayweather and his entourage for their identification cards In January 2010.

Attorneys for Mayweather said in a court motion that the lawsuit should be dismissed because it was so vague.

Mayweather has a history of court dealings. The Las Vegas boxer is undefeated in 41 fights.
