Former cruiserweight champion Enzo Maccarinelli told Western Mail that Joe Calzaghe will avenge the Calzaghe stable on April 19 when moves up to light heavyweight to challenge Bernard Hopkins in Las Vegas.

Macca, Gavin Rees and Kerry Hope are all trained by Joe's father, Enzo Calzaghe. On March 8, Macca was stopped in two-rounds by David Haye. Rees and Hope were handed defeats over the weekend. Macca says that Calzaghe, the last remaining champion of Wales, will knock Hopkins out to show their stable is still strong.

“Joe’s too strong mentally for the last couple of weeks to harm him,” said Maccarinelli. “He’s done his training his own way for so long and I can see only one result in Vegas. It won’t affect him and he’ll do the business against Hopkins.

“We all fight individually, but we’re still a team. We’re not used to defeat as a gym, but we’ve got to put up with it. Gavin and Kerry will both come back stronger because we’ve got faith in our boss Enzo (Calzaghe). We’ll be back on top again, all of us
Gavin Rees is pretty horrible. It was dope to see him in the 12th round this weekend taunting Kotelnik like his punches weren't bothering him and they getting stopped in that same round. I don't think he'll ever be back on top again.

Really? I haven't seen much of Albert, so I can't really say. I hope not though!

LOL, Manny Pacquiao is done with fighting Cocks, gambling, partying and womanizing!

“People now are not seeing only my new hairstyle but that is also a reminder that everything has changed in my lifestyle. You are now looking at the new Manny Pacquiao,” the celebrated boxing superstar said during a press conference cum victory party arranged by television network GMA-7.

Pacquiao said it he now feels good every time he recalls all the habits he has done in the past, vices that he is now able to avoid for the good of his career and family.

“No more late-night parties, no more gambling and other vices. The things that I will do now are training and school, that’s it,”said Pacquiao in front of both showbiz and sports writers who attended the event.

“I want to finish my studies and I am serious about it. I want to be serious in life that is why if you notice I am now serious with my answers during interviews. I now answer everything direct to the point,’ said Pacquiao who was joined by wife Jinkee.

Interviewed by Philippine Basketball League (PBL) commissioner Chino Trinidad who also dabbles as sports TV correspondent for GMA, Pacquiao revealed that his wife had asked him to give up his fighting cocks.

“That won’t be a problem. I’m willing to give it up. I’m a changed man now and I feel good about it. I even like to talk about God and the bible,”said Pacquiao during the TV interview.

Damn that's a good card right there. Big step up for Gamboa too, Ramirez is undefeated.

ESPN.com's division-by-division rankings

HEAVYWEIGHTS (201 AND UP)

Wladimir Klitschko (50-3)

The new unified titleholder figures to make one of his mandatory defenses this summer in Germany, either against Alexander Povetkin or Tony Thompson, but the fight we all want to see is the rematch with Samuel Peter. Unfortunately, that won't happen for the time being because Peter is obligated to fight Vitali Klitschko, Wlad's big brother who is getting in the way of division clarity.
Next: TBA.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. Samuel Peter (30-1)

As expected, the "Nigerian Nightmare" pounded out Oleg Maskaev to claim a title March 8 inside a bullring in Cancun, Mexico. Great setting and a good fight that sets the stage for Peter's mandatory defense against unretiring but oft-injured Vitali Klitschko. If Peter takes out Vitali, bring on little brother Wlad for a rematch of Peter's only career loss in 2005. The division needs the rematch in the worst way.
Next: TBA vs. V. Klitschko.

3. Ruslan Chagaev (24-0-1)

His second defense will be a mandatory against Nikolai Valuev, the man from whom he won the title on a majority decision in April 2007. Chagaev's promoter, Universum Box-Promotion, will control the fight, having won a purse bid for $4,354,840.
Next: May 31 vs. Valuev.

4. Nikolai Valuev (48-1)

If Valuev can use his jab as effectively against Chagaev in their rematch as he did when he pulverized Sergei Liakhovich with it in their elimination fight on Feb. 16, he ought to be able to regain the belt.
Next: May 31 vs. Chagaev.

5. Alexander Povetkin (15-0)

Now that Klitschko has dismissed Ibragimov, Povetkin is the likely of his two mandatory challengers to get the next crack. But why would Povetkin's team want to rush him into such a hard fight this early in his career? It's mind-blowing. If he faces Klitschko next, Povetkin will get crushed.
Next: TBA.

6. John Ruiz (43-7-1)

Love him or hate him, Ruiz remains in the title hunt after a thoroughly convincing and lopsided decision victory against Jameel McCline -- who was a punch away from knocking out Peter last fall -- on the Peter-Maskaev undercard. Ruiz-McCline did feature a lot of holding and wrestling but most of the blame goes to McCline. Good, solid victory for the "Quietman," who won his second fight in six months.
Next: TBA.

7. Oleg Maskaev (34-6)

At 39 and coming off a 15-month layoff and a back injury, he might have had problems with any solid heavyweight. But against the much younger and stronger Peter, he had only a puncher's chance. In the end, Peter blew him out in six rounds to take his title.
Next: TBA.

8. Sultan Ibragimov (22-1-1)

Watching Ibragimov fight Klitschko with no apparent plan to get on the inside against a much bigger opponent really makes you wonder: What the heck did he and his team do in training camp for all those weeks? It was a horrible performance in a worse fight. We won't be counting the days until Ibragimov's next fight.
Next: TBA.

9. Hasim Rahman (45-6-2)

Promoter Bob Arum is talking about matching the former champ with huge, but extraordinarily average, Tye Fields on the undercard of the proposed David Diaz-Manny Pacquiao bout for what he's calling the heavyweight championship of Las Vegas, since Rahman and Fields both live there. It's not the most meaningful fight in the world, but it could be fun.
Next: TBA.

10. Tony "The Tiger" Thompson (30-1)

When the sanctioning organizations created mandatory challengers, it was done with the fighters like Thompson in mind. Nobody wants to fight a tough, talented, slick boxer with good power who brings nothing economically to the table unless they are forced to. Well, Thompson deserves his shot and looms as a mandatory for Klitschko.
Next: TBA.

CRUISERWEIGHTS (200 POUNDS)

1. David Haye (21-1)

Next stop: heavyweight. The champ added another alphabet title to his growing collection with a highlight-reel knockout of Enzo Maccarinelli in a March 8 fight that captured the British public's attention and got wide exposure in the United States on Showtime. Haye now plans to take his powerful punch and great personality to the heavyweight division, which could get a shot in the arm with his arrival.
Next: TBA.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. Steve Cunningham (21-1)

It's probably a long shot because of all the politics involved, but ideally, Cunningham, the likeable titlist from Philadelphia, will get a chance to face the winner of Haye-Maccarinelli. Based on his past passport activity, you know Cunningham would have no problem going to the United Kingdom for the fight, so that's one hurdle already overcome.
Next: TBA.

3. Jean-Marc Mormeck (33-4)

The former champ, who lost the recognized world title when Haye knocked him out in November, expects to be sidelined until early summer because of injuries. When he returns, King could give him a shot at Cunningham.
Next: TBA.

4. O'Neil Bell (26-2-1)

Good news for fans: The former undisputed champion's elimination fight in Poland against former light heavyweight titlist Tomasz Adamek will be carried by ESPN Classic. It should be an action fight, and the winner gets a shot at Cunningham.
Next: April 19 vs. Adamek.

5. Enzo Maccarinelli (28-2)

He rocked Haye in the first round, but could do little else and got stopped in the second round of their unification fight. Maccarinelli showed a lot of heart to get off the floor, but he was staggering around in comical fashion. Back to the drawing board.
Next: TBA.

6. Krzysztof Wlodarczyk (38-2)

The former titlist from Poland won his third in a row since losing his belt to Cunningham in their rematch last May when he stopped Gabora Halasz in the fourth round on Feb. 9. Wlodarczyk may shut it down for awhile now because of a shoulder problem that could require surgery.
Next: TBA.

7. Vadim Tokarev (24-1-1)

If Bell passes on the opportunity, Tokarev is next in line to face Adamek for the right to eventually face Cunningham. Tokarev-Adamek would be a terrific matchup between strong, physical fighters.
Next: TBA.

8. Firat Arslan (28-3-1)

Arslan's first defense since defeating Virgil Hill last fall has been scheduled and one rumored opponent is hard-punching Darnell "Ding-A-Ling Man" Wilson.
Next:May 3 vs. TBA.

9. Marco Huck (19-1)

Let the comeback begin. Huck was knocked out by Cunningham in the last minute of their Dec. 29 title bout, but he's ready to embark on a comeback. He'll return to action on the undercard of Sebastian Sylvester's European middleweight title defense against former world champion Javier Castillejo.
Next: April 12 vs. TBA.

10. B.J. Flores (21-0-1)

It wasn't pretty, but Flores avoided Darnell "Ding-A-Ling Man" Wilson's power to outbox him and score the Feb. 8 upset on "Friday Night Fights." Solid win for Flores, but Flores ran way too much for him to ever gain a fan following.

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHTS (175 POUNDS

. Bernard Hopkins (48-4-1)

You know B-Hop is taking his showdown with super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe very seriously because he has brought noted fitness guru Mackie Shilstone back into his camp. Shilstone is one of the best in the business. Every time he's ever been with a fighter, he's won the fight, including with Roy Jones, Riddick Bowe, Michael Spinks and Hopkins (when he trained for his upset win against Antonio Tarver in 2006).
Next: April 19 vs. Calzaghe.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. Clinton Woods (41-3-1)

England's Woods is headed to Tampa to defend his belt against hometown former champion Antonio Tarver in what figures to be a pretty good fight.
Next: April 12 vs. Tarver.

3. Glen Johnson (47-11-2)

The former champ dusted former welterweight Hugo Pineda in eight rounds on Jan. 5 to tune up for a spring showdown with titlist Chad Dawson that will answer two important questions: 1. How much does Johnson have left at age 39? 2. How good is Dawson?
Next: April 12 vs. Dawson

4. Chad Dawson (25-0)

Dawson's next defense will come against Johnson on Showtime because Antonio Tarver refused to fight such a dangerous opponent. A win over Johnson would be a nice feather in Dawson's cap. If Dawson beats Johnson, he will have to face mandatory challenger Adrian Diaconu.
Next:April 12 vs. Johnson.

5. Zsolt Erdei (28-0)

In his 10th defense, Erdei will fight yet another woefully undeserving challenger in DeAndrey Abron (15-1), a 35-year-old with zero credentials to be in a title fight. He's fought exactly one 12-rounder, never been in a scheduled 10 and never faced a remotely notable opponent. That the WBO would approve him for a title bout just continues the joke that is the WBO.
Next: April 26 vs. Abron.

6. Antonio Tarver (26-4)

After two meaningless fights on Showtime, Tarver will finally take a fight that doesn't stink. After Jeff Lacy rejected the bout, Tarver will face titleholder Woods on Showtime. At last, Tarver will face a legitimate opponent.
Next: April 12 vs. Woods.

7. Roy Jones Jr. (52-4)

Jones ventured to Germany to watch the comeback fight of former super middleweight titleholder Markus Beyer on March 15 and to talk about a possible fight against him there. If Jones and Beyer work out a deal, it's easy money for Jones.
Next: TBA.

8. Danny Green (25-3)

Australia's Green claimed a world title in December from Stipe Drews in his hometown of Perth, where he will also make his first defense, a mandatory against Argentina's Hugo Hernan Garay (30-3). Two of Garay's defeats came in title bouts against Erdei.
Next: April 27 vs. Garay.

9. Adrian "The Shark" Diaconu (24-0)

The Canadian-based Romanian returns home to Bucharest to face American Chris Henry (21-0) for an interim title with Dawson looming for the victor. However, Diaconu-Henry was supposed to take place March 29 but has moved at the request of the Romanian television network covering the bout.
Next: April 19 vs. Henry.

10. Paul Briggs (26-3)

Various injuries and a problem with his adrenal gland kept Briggs on the shelf for most of 2007. The two-time title challenger from Australia fought just once last year, in February. Hopefully, he'll be back in action more regularly in the new year. How about an all-Australian showdown against Green?

SUPER MIDDLEWEIGHTS (168 POUNDS

1. Joe Calzaghe (44-0)

The pride of Wales is coming to America, Las Vegas to be exact, to face light heavyweight champ Bernard Hopkins in what will be one of the year's biggest fights. Huge props to HBO for bankrolling the showdown to keep it off pay-per-view. Now, it's up to the fighters to make sure it's a good fight to justify HBO's considerable investment ($6 million). Calzaghe is younger, faster and throws far more punches each round than Hopkins, which is why he ought to be the favorite.
Next: April 19 vs. Hopkins.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. Mikkel Kessler (39-1)

Big props to Showtime for putting up the cash to make a Kessler-Edison Miranda fight. It matches two of the most exciting and charismatic fighters in the division. That said, Kessler, the far superior boxer, deserves to be the big favorite in his first fight since losing a unification match to Calzaghe.
Next: May 24 vs. Miranda.

3. Lucian Bute (22-0)

In his first defense on Feb. 29, Bute did exactly what he was supposed to do -- dominate long-faded former middleweight titlist William Joppy. Bute dropped Joppy three times en route to a 10th-round TKO in front of a wild Montreal crowd. Nobody seemed to care that Joppy never had a chance.
Next: TBA vs. Libraro Andrade.

4. Anthony Mundine (31-3)

Mundine's selection of opponents is just a complete joke at this point. The upcoming defense of his tainted paper title against Australian countryman Sam Soliman is meaningless. Mundine already owns two victories against Soliman, including a ninth-round knockout last March, and Soliman has done absolutely nothing to warrant another shot.
Next: May 28 vs. Soliman.

5. Jeff Lacy (23-1)

Golden Boy is looking for a meaningful bout for the former titleholder and would like to match him with Allan Green on its May 31 Shane Mosley-Zab Judah HBO PPV undercard. That would be a terrific fight and a serious crossroads bout for both fighters. It's the perfect bout for a card titled "High Stakes."
Next: TBA.

6. Allan Green (26-1)

Although Green made no friends by childishly pulling out of a Feb. 29 ESPN2 main event against Antwun Echols without a legitimate reason, he could make up for it by agreeing to fight Lacy on Golden Boy's May 31 HBO PPV card.
Next: TBA.

7. Librado Andrade (27-1)

Andrade pounded on Robert Stieglitz to score an exciting eighth-round TKO March 22 on HBO. The victory in the title eliminator earned Andrade a mandatory shot against Canada's Bute. That should be another exciting bout. Let's just hope it finds a place on American television.
Next: TBA vs. Bute.

8. Carl Froch (22-0)

Denis Inkin had a medical issue that forced him to withdraw from a March 29 title eliminator in Froch's hometown of Nottingham, England, but it has been rescheduled. The winner becomes one of Calzaghe's mandatory challengers.
Next: TBA.

9. Edison Miranda (30-2)

Miranda, one of the great trash-talkers in the sport today, taunted and called out Kessler relentlessly. The result? We have ourselves what should be a highly entertaining fight.
Next: May 24 vs. Kessler.

10. Denis Inkin (32-0)

With his illness forcing the eliminator against Froch to be delayed from March 29 until later in the spring, it means Showtime will not cover the bout on "ShoBox," as it had planned to do. The new date just doesn't work in Showtime's schedule. Bummer.
Next: May 10 vs. Froch

MIDDLEWEIGHTS (160 POUNDS

. Kelly Pavlik (33-0)

Coming off his second win a row against Jermain Taylor, you can't blame Pavlik and promoter Bob Arum for taking a softer touch, which is why Pavlik's first title defense will come against unheralded mandatory challenger Gary Lockett (30-1) of Wales, who happens to be trained by Enzo Calzaghe, the father of super middleweight champ Joe Calzaghe. Arum wants to lay the groundwork for an eventual Calzaghe-Pavlik fight.
Next: June 7 vs. Lockett.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. Jermain Taylor (27-2-1)

Next: TBA.

3. Arthur Abraham (25-0)

Abraham is slated for a gimme defense of his paper title against Elvin Ayala (18-2-1), who has a recent draw with Sergio Mora of "The Contender" but two losses to David Banks, the man blown away by Edison Miranda. Miranda, of course, broke Abraham's jaw and gave him toughest fight in a highly controversial decision loss.
Next: March 29 vs. Ayala.

4. Winky Wright (51-4-1)

The Winkster has been calling out Pavlik of late, but he's got no shot at getting the fight because he brings so little to the table. He doesn't draw a lot of fans, he costs a lot of money and it's a tough fight. Three strikes like that and you're out.
Next: TBA.

5. Felix Sturm (28-2-1)

If Sturm makes it through a defense of his paper title against obscure Australian Jamie Pittman (16-0), there has been some conversations about him defending against Wright this summer.
Next: April 5 vs. Pittman.

6. Javier Castillejo (62-7)

Many thought Castillejo was finished after he lost a lopsided fight to Fernando Vargas in August 2005, but he has been reborn since, going 5-1 with a no contest and winning another title. Now the 39-year-old former titleholder from Spain will challenge European champ Sebastian Sylvester with the winner likely to get a shot at Sturm.
Next: April 12 vs. Sylvester.

7. Sebastian Sylvester (28-2)

The European champion successfully defended his title for the second time with a near-shutout of French challenger Francois Bastient (now 33-6-1) on the Jan. 26 Alexander Povetkin-Eddie Chambers card in Berlin. The victory set the stage for a defense against former world titleholder Castillejo.
Next: April 12 vs. Castillejo.

8. Amin Asikainen (24-1)

While hoping to set up a rubber match with Sylvester, the former European champion stayed busy in his native Finland by stopping washed up former junior middleweight beltholder Yory Boy Campas (now 91-11) in the seventh round on Feb. 1.
Next: TBA.

9. Randy Griffin (24-1-3)

He's on the list as a potential challenger for Pavlik this summer, but if he gets a shot it will more likely come in Pavlik's second defense this fall.
Next: TBA.

10. Mariano Carrera (31-5)

Carrera, he of the positive steroid test that resulted in being stripped of a title, will meet Khoren Gevor (28-3) on the Sturm-Pittman card. Carrera-Gevor is actually a much more interesting fight than the main event.
Next: April 5 vs. Gevor

yeah we can do a trade for the equal amount of Pernell Whitaker's. That be dope.

Only problem though is all of these b-hop fights are on dvd. The big name fights, and mediocre names are on one disc, some of the early fights might have anywhere from 2-4 fights on one disc. So I'm not sure if you want me to upload them or just copy the disc's and trade that way. I think all those fights are on 17 dvds

I ain't trying to make you burn 17 dvds. The Pernell fights are all .avi/.mpgs so it fights they fit on 6 dvds. I'll take the Roy Jones fights if it ain't too many discs and I'll burn you all the Whitaker fights. Don't really care too much about fight for fight .. just trying to expand my shit.

Junior Witter To Meet Timothy Bradley on 5/10

By Mark Vester

According to a report in the UK publication The People, Junior Witter (36-1, 21KOs) will defend his WBC junior welterweight title against mandatory contender Timothy Bradley (21-0, 11KOs) on May 10. The fight will likely take place in the United States. No venue has been set.

In the last few weeks, both Witter and Bradley have lost their respective opponents and have chosen to fight sooner than expected. Witter lost an HBO televised date with Demetrius Hopkins after Hopkins dropped out due to promotional issues with Golden Boy Promotions.

Bradley was ready to fight Jose Luis Castillo in a WBC final eliminator on March 8. Castillo was unable to make weight and Bradley was installed as the mandatory by the sanctioning body.

"Bradley was due to fight Castillo in a final title eliminator but that was cancelled due to him not making the weight yet again, so we decided to take the fight now. Bradley is a tricky opponent for Junior, but it is a fight he is happy to take," Dominic Ingle, Witter's trainer, said.

"The WBC wanted Junior to fight Bradley in September, but as there are no other credible opponents around, Junior wants to take it as early as possible so he can work towards unifying the division. We hope to line up a fight with IBF champion Ricardo Torres later in the year and, once Junior has the two titles, see where that takes him from there. But he is hungry to unify the division as quickly as possible

Judah Wants Mosley Tested For Steroids

By Mark Vester

According to a report by The Los Angeles Times, Zab Judah's camp has made a formal request for Shane Mosley to take a private blood test to ensure that he is no longer taking any steroids or performance enhancing drugs. Judah will meet Mosley on May 31 in Las Vegas.

The newspaper obtained a March 13 email where Judah's promoter, Michael Shinefield, made the formal request to Golden Boy Promotions for Mosley to take a private blood test.

"We would be willing to absorb all cost associated with this test for both fighters," Shinefield wrote in the e-mail. "Please understand that this ends any and all speculation of doping by either fighter. With the fight being touted as 'High Stakes,' it's only just that every step is taken to ensure a fair fight. We hope Shane agrees!"

Judah's camp is pointing to the revelation which took place last September, where Mosley said that he "unknowingly" used then-undetectable steroids from the BALCO lab. Mosley said that Derryl Hudson, his former strength and conditioning coach, also gave him EPO, a blood-boosting drug.

Hudson recently filed a lawsuit against Mosley for defamation. He alleges that Mosley had made false statements by proclaiming to the press that he was "totally unaware that he was taking performance-enhancing substances and felt the banned substances were pushed on him by [Hudson]."

Calzaghe: "I Won't Make Hatton's Mistakes

By Mark Vester

Super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe has vowed to avoid making the same mistakes as countryman Ricky Hatton when he moves up to light heavyweight division to face Bernard Hopkins on April 19 in Las Vegas.

Calzaghe was present for Hatton's December bout against Floyd Mayweather Jr. He tells Western Mail that Hatton let the big event affect his state of mind.

“Perhaps it got to Hatton a bit but you’ve got to keep your discipline and stay cool, calm and collected,” said Calzaghe. “I’m excited about the fight now – and I’ve been told that the buzz is already there around it in Vegas – but I’m doing nothing different.

“My training doesn’t change and I don’t change. I feel under no more pressure than usual and it’s important to stay calm. I’ll get more focused as the fight nears and when I go over to Vegas I’ll keep away from the hustle and bustle of the strip. I’m relaxed, confident and I’m just going to do my business in the ring.”

Calzaghe told the paper that he is not buying into the hype of black vs. white, America vs. Britain or any of the other mindgames that Hopkins is trying to drill in his head. He is planning to keep his cool and focus on winning.

“The way my personality is it’s going to take more than a few words to upset me,” said Calzaghe. “It’s not Britain versus America or politics black against white. It’s a boxing match and it’s me against a guy called Bernard Hopkins, who’s got a big mouth and thinks he’s better than he is."

“He’s going to try and get under my skin but, as I’ve said, you’ve basically got to stay cool, calm and collected. It doesn’t worry me what he says, in fact I find it quite amusing. If he wants to talk himself up then that’s the way it is. It’s not a problem. He’s full of it, trying to get a psychological edge. But I’ve been boxing for 26 years now and it takes a lot to rile me.”
