I know you say you don't follow the business side as much, but do you know if Andrade is with Al Haymon or not? I can't find accurate info. I found an article from 2012 that said he's an advisor, but nothing recent. If he is with Haymon, probably won't get any Andrade vs HBO guys anytime soon (i.e GGG).

But isn't Andrade Top Rank? They always show his fights on HBO.
No he's with Banner Promotions and Star. Just because someone is on HBO doesn't mean they are Top Rank. HBO works with all promoters, whereas 99% of Showtime fights are Golden Boy/Al Haymon.

On Wednesday, the organization ruled in favor of Andrade, whose co-promoters, Artie Pelullo of Banner Promotions and Joe DeGuardia of Star Boxing, will begin negotiating the bout with Top Rank's Bob Arum, Korobov's promoter. The WBO said the sides have 15 days to reach an agreement or a purse bid will be ordered.

Bob Arum was kinda pissed about it because he already made a deal with Saunders promoter Frank Warren, which was a much more winnable fight for Korobov:

Arum also said he was angry at Pelullo, saying he reneged on a deal to have Andrade (21-0, 14 KOs), a 26-year-old southpaw from Providence, Rhode Island, step aside to allow Korobov-Saunders to go through despite the petition.

"I spoke to Joe and I have no problem negotiating with him, but Artie I will not talk to. The deal we made was that Korobov-Saunders goes in England and Andrade fights the winner in 90 days and Andrade gets a spot on the undercard in England. And now Artie claims that never happened. Nobody's going to do that to me. That's unconscionable. The WBO has now mandated Korobov-Andrade, so I will talk Joe DeGuardia, who is an honorable guy. But I will not speak to Pelullo after what he did to me."

Awesome the rumors were true. This fight will be a Banger!

Kirkland-Rosado Targeted For 156-Pound Catch-Weight

By Rick Reeno

MGM Grand, Las Vegas - As BoxingScene.com previously reported, junior middleweight contender James Kirkland (32-1, 28KOs) is strongly being considered to open up HBO's November 8th card from the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

BoxingScene has heard that negotiations to match him against Gabe Rosado (21-8, 13KOs)*are heating up and it's only a matter of working out the weight limit. Kirkland will not move up to 160-pounds, so his team is attempting to meet Rosado in the middle with a catch-weight of 156-pounds.

The event, co-promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and Main Events, will be headlined by a highly anticipated light heavyweight unification between Bernard Hopkins and Sergey Kovalev.

Kirkland was last seen in action last December, at the same venue, stopping previously undefeated Glen Tapia in six rounds.

Just a heads up, The Fight Game is on tonight on HBO, you know the lil show with Jim Lampley and he talks about boxing. What's interesting is HBO tweeted that Oscar and Bob Arum will be guests. One can only speculate this means they will announce a co-promoted fight or perhaps some other announcement.

Well that was kind of strange. I think Arum called him an idiot on the slick and Arum seemed way more willing to work with him than vice versa.

So Erislandy Lara vs. Ishe Smith is in the works.

They should put Bey vs Vazquez II and Carlos Molina vs K9 Bundrage on the undercard, make this a PPV. $95 HD.

Seriosly do they have a competition at Al Haymon headquarters of who can make the worst possible stylistic match ups? Because if they are who ever is making these matches is killin it!

My bad I didn't see this post before. I'm really not sure but I could swear I remember hearing a link to Andrade/Haymon back when he fighting on ESPN coming up but I really have no idea.

I wouldn't doubt it though. Seems everyone else is signing with him. How funny would it be if he is with Haymon and Andrade/Korobov goes to a purse bid and RN wins it.

Looks like Ellerbe about to be gone at TMT... watch Schaeffer come in

FLOYD MAYWEATHER MAKING MAJOR CHANGES TO HIS TEAM: "WHEN MAY COMES AROUND...I'LL HAVE A TOTALLY NEW TEAM"|| FIGHTHYPE.COM

BT: There's also been some rumors regarding Leonard Ellerbe and Mayweather Promotions...

FM: (Cutting in) Leonard, I think we're just getting to a point where we're outgrowing each other. I think I just see things my way and I think he sees things in another way. For example, this time around when I went out and fought, my WBC and WBA titles in both weight classes were on the line and I didn't approve of that at all. That's something I didn't approve of. Also, my daughter was sitting in the front row and her mother wasn't sitting next to her, so the ticket arrangements were totally wrong. It just got to a point to where everyone wants to do what they want to do instead of communicating and compromising like we used to. We got to this point by us communicating and compromising. If I'm not mistaken, my dad wasn't able to work [Andrew] Tabiti's corner, his fighter. My dad, he got all his stuff, the things that he needed for the fight, extremely late. That's just very unprofessional. There's just a lot of other things within our team that's just not right. Leonard wasn't in my corner, so, you know, it's not any hard feelings. It's just people outgrow one another. I'm not mad at him. There's no hard feeling like I hate the guy; not at all. No hard feelings whatsoever. People just outgrow one another, just like when people get a divorce. They're no longer on the same page mentally.

Ben, It's just I'm growing in a different direction from everybody else. I'm at a new place in my life and I'm trying to get better. Even though I'm 37, I'm trying to get better and I want to become better and I want my team to become better, and if you're not on the same page as me, then there's nothing I can really say or do but say it's time for you to do your own thing since people may not want to do things the way I want to do things or communicate or compromise. There's no way that I go beat these fighters for these titles and then without me saying anything, someone tells me I got four titles on the line at two different weight classes. When I beat that guy for just one belt, I had three belts and beat him for one belt, and the next fight, after he already loses to me, I come back and say, here, I'm gonna fight you for four belts in two different weight classes? Come on, man. It doesn't make any sense; I don't think so

The reality is that he knew the ppv numbers were coming in
low before the fight started so now he wants someone to blame. Everyone wondered whats so different about Floyd when he walked down the ring that's what it was. Then for Showtime to ask him to fight Manny is a spit to Floyds face, really. He left HBO so he won't have to cough up so much to fight Manny, and get an L, now Showtime is asking to do the same. They pressured him to fight Canelo and now they will do the same for his May fight. If it's not Khan in London or Manny, it's a wrap for Floyd.

Another thing to keep an eye on is the ordered Postol vs Danny Garcia. If that goes to a purse bid I definitely see Roc Nation bidding.

But Im sure Garcia will dump the belt and Mattysse vs Postol will fight for the vacant belt.

Here's the bullshit about it all. Both Garcia Vs. Postol & Stiverne Vs. Wilder were supposed to go to purse bids on 09/13 in Vegas since everyone was supposed to be there already and they were both pushed back to 10/01 for "undisclosed" reasons.

I'm sure someone went to the WBC needing more time. I will say this, I could see Garcia not giving a fuck and dropping the belt but I can't see Wilder being too happy about missing a title fight if RN wins the purse bid.
