Are you talking about the Setrippin Cover? If so lol, that is quite possible. Especially considering it was his debut album (not many people knew who Mr. Doctor was at the time) and promoted with Lynch's name.
To be honest though, as simple as the cover is, it's bad ass. The dark blue/light blue "smoke" contrast, the chill posture of Doc with the white shirt and the lettering of the title/"Brotha Lynch Hung Presents" completes it as a true classic album.
Either way, the album is gold. If they truly did "dark out" doc on the cover to make him less noticeable as being white, they were smart as all it did was make more sales/interest. If "Setrippin" released with a cover similar to "Bombay" or "Odysea" I wouldn't be surprised if it did not reach the same popularity when released, regardless of the album's content. Who knows if it would truly have had that huge of an effect on Doc's image/interest but it is kind of a funny question
