thinking about upgrading from my lg piece of shit now dare, screen is cracked the shit goes on the fritz. Thinking about getting a blackberry storm 2 or the fucking droid, they're both bricks so no argument there. Anybody have either one and tell me if they have run into problems with either one or some shit like that and if you're happy with your purchase?

edit* price doesn't matter...

A Blackberry without a keypad, defeats the purpose of it IMO. thats what makes a Blackberry a Blackberry. And I messed with the Droid and wasnt impressed. I did like the HTC Droid Eris. I would say wait it out for new Android 2.0/1 devices....

Im an IPhone user so i cant help but compare everything to it, but thats my opinion

never thought of that, thanks for your intel ill keep it in mind, I'm still probably gonna fuck with both of them for a half an hour each in the verizon store and the eris too, gonna be a tough one, and at least they got that 30 day warranty bullshit so if anything ill have one for how long i can stand it and the same for the other, right on everyone.

Whatever it is you get is probably a big step up from your Dare, like I said I compare em to my IPhone 3GS so its different....I didnt like the flat keys of the Droid, makes it hard to type. They got a virtual keyboard on there too so I dont see why they bothered to include a keypad if it wasnt gonna be a good one.

^^youll be impressed when you hands on with the droid...its pretty sleek and slimmer than what i thought it would be....i checked it out to before deciding to just go with sprint cause of the cheapers plans, but i would get that in a heart beat if it were to ever go to sprint

in the end i think I'm going with whatever i can browse the internet better with because that's what I'm going to be doing more than anything, because if I'm going to give an extra 30 bucks a month just for internet service i better be able to sail through that shit smooth as fuck. What i do like about the blackberry storm is that unlike the iphone or the droid is that while you're using it you actually click the touch screen, and to me that's a plus, whenever im on my itouch or dare i barely touch the screen and it already took me some other ass place and shit, so yea...

If email is huge for work, go with the blackberry. The storm 2 is nice, but I've always preferred windows mobile over RIM products. But...with android coming to Verizon, I have totally gravitated towards the Droid. The device is solid. They keyboard works great for me, after a few minutes I was able to type pretty damn fast, I have never cared for virtual keyboards since I like the sensation of pressing a button. If you want to be able to do more, like free apps, games, better web browsing, go with the Droid. You will not regret it. Shit last night I downloaded a bunch of NES roms to take to work with me.

Supposedly there is the Nexus One which is supposed to be open to all carriers (google) but that shit is going to be like 5 bills for verizon and ATT customer because only T-Mo will be subsidizing it. On the other hand Verizon is supposed to be getting a device called the Passions (as of right now) by HTC which looks like the eris but has a bigger display, 4.3 inches and has the 1ghz snap dragon processor. Luckily I can upgrade every 10 months on each of my lines so I will probably get it if that comes out soon too.

dope, you know how soon the Passions is supposed to come out, even a wild guess?

email is not as important right now, but i figure towards the end of the year it will be. Did you ever get the blackberry storm a test run before the droid came out?

If your primary use is going to be using the internet then go with the Droid. Its browser shits on BB's right now and they sites that stream video respond better on it. Hell even the Youtube app is solid.

I have a Storm 1 (which has the same OS as the Storm 2) and the Droid and I stopped using my Storms browser all togethet. The only thing I use anymore is my email. I also have my email set up on my Droid and it works the same as the Storm so there realy isnt that much difference.

The BEST thing on the DROID over the BB is the depth of the app store. Theres more fun apps in there amd it seems that there are a lot more free programs on it. One app I use a lot is the I Music app for music and ringtones.

Ive had my Storm for over a year and loved it but if your getting a phone right now the Moto Droid is where its at.

No clue honestly when it is to come out, I am hoping sometime in January or February though...

I got to use the Storm 2 for a day or two. It runs excellent, everything the original storm should have been. The keyboard actually works well with my big fingers and was very responsive. The only downfall was the amount of apps I could get, for free and paid. The droid is entertainment + productivity where as the storm was mostly productivity.

Buy a Droid or Eris and get an Eris Free...you need two eligible contracts (upgrades or new lines on the same account) which is a dope deal at the moment. Not to mention you might have a New Every 2 Credit on your account which can drop the price of the first device..
