Cleveland, Ohio native Bizzy Bone has landed a major label record deal with EMI's Imperial Records and is planning a new solo album titled A Song For You.
The album is being produced by After Platinum Entertainment, while Imperial will market and promote the album in conjunction with EMI's Virgin imprint.
"After Platinum and Bizzy Bone are both very excited to have joined with Imperial Records and Virgin Records for Bizzy's major label debut," After Platinum CEO Ernie Romero said in a statement. "A Song For You is the breath of fresh air that so many fans have been gasping for. It's official: He's back, and better than ever!"
Imperial Records is headed by Neil Levine, former head of seminal label Penalty Records.
"Working with a true visionary like Bizzy is a dream come true," Levine said. "Bizzy has made a truly amazing record that both Imperial and Virgin Records are ecstatic to be involved with. This record will firmly cement his place in hip hop history."
As a former member of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Bizzy Bone has sold tens of millions of records.
He was officially kicked out of the group in 2005, for alleged alcohol and substance abuse and his frequent absences from live performances.
Bone Thug is also preparing a high profile tentatively titled Strength & Loyalty via Swizz Beats' Full Surface record label.
While his split with the group was very public, Bizzy Bone wished his former group nothing but luck.
"It's all love with Bone Thugs. I love and support what they're doing," Bizzy Bone said. "If they ever need anything I'm right here to deliver. I wish them much success, peace and prosperity as they are much deserving and I'm certain they reciprocate the same feelings for me."
A Song For You is due in stores in 2007.
