LAS VEGAS - Authorities are seeking three people for questioning in the shooting deaths of a Kansas City, Mo., rapper and his friend at a southern Nevada construction site.
Las Vegas rapper Andre Dow, 34, Tanisha Aaron, 27, and Jason Mathis, 24, both of the San Francisco area, are believed to have information about the May 23 murders, Las Vegas police Sgt. Chris Jones said Wednesday.
The bodies of rapper Anthony "Fat Tone" Watkins, 24, and Jermaine "Cowboy" Akins, 22, were found by a security guard at a cul-de-sac lined with unfinished homes in a southwest neighborhood.
Dow, known as "Mac Minister," made headlines five years ago when he and another rapper brawled at the nationally televised Source Awards show in Pasadena, Calif.
Authorities said they were investigating whether the killings were part of a battle between Midwest and West Coast rappers and whether it was linked with the November drive-by slaying in Kansas City of California rapper Andre "Mac Dre" Hicks, 34.
Watkins was considered a person of interest but was never called a suspect in Hicks' slaying, the second involving a California rapper in Kansas City last year.
In March 2004, Ramone C. Davis, 31, a rapper from San Diego, was killed by a man Kansas City police said was trying to rob him of marijuana. That case also remains unsolved.
