Richard Armstrong the owner of Rock Bottom Records is one of the best record store owners that the Bay Area has ever seen. The store has a great selection, he gets everything first because of his bond with the independent artists. If he doesn't have something in he will order it for you A.S.A.P!
Recently though a few people went in to buy some of my old L-Love catalog (got my own whole shelve row in the store) and when get people were picking it up to take to the counter the employee DALE told them to put it back and not to buy it, that I don't promote my music and not to support my "old" catalog. If this was a few years ago (shoot even a year ago) I would of went in there and straight took off on him, but since my baby girl was born I am way more calm and relaxed.
What he doesn't understand with a statement like that is I take care of my family with my Record Sales and Magazine Sales, I feed my daughter with that money that he had those fans put back on the shelf (yeah I look at those cds as straight cash), I put clothes on my daughters back and food in her stomach with those Record Sales and Magazine Sales. PAY MY BABY MOMMA CHILD SUPPORT with those Record Sales that DALE took away.
What he fails to understand that as a man I haven't been on the road promoting because I have been being a "FATHER", nurturing a child. I am about to come back though real soon. I am finishing up the new cd and I will be hitting the streets with a new single real soon to kick off the new cd. The new single feature MESSY MARV and has MATT BLAQUE (from Jacka "All Over Me" fame) on the hook. Be on the look out for that single. I will be out passing some out when it gets back from press.
In the mean time if you want to head into Rock Bottom Records and let DALE know personally how you feel about his statements, please do so. If you want to tell the Store Owner Rick that you support him for supporting the underground, please do so. Also don't forget to check out that entire L-Love shelf next time you are in Rock Bottom Records.
One Luv,
"L"
P.S.:
Didn't mean to high jack the Big Tone thread, it just had Rock Bottom mentioned in it. Big Tone keep doing your thing and expanding your career. Nice to see your success.
