Big Scoob signing w/Strange? I've alwayz wonder how this would work. I know Scoob and Tech are from the same hood, but when TOG formed Strange, Tech used to perform "Let's Get Fucked Up" w/Grant Rice, Kutt Cal, and Kaliko (not the RDVs)... lol..... Tech's signature song, at the time, was an RDV track not a Strange track. Is this how TOG is paying off Big Scoob for all those shows that Strange wuz performing RDV music??? I mean, you start screamin about a million sales, and sum old friendz come back out the woodworks...

Big Scoob has already signed. Peep the sampler for a taste of his solo already slated for 3rd release of the year. mocheeze, negating the opinion of your personal views, i wonder what part of the music did you deal with? I mean time era, im damn sure you DO KNOW more about the behind the scenes shit from the early time era, to possibly now. So without blatantly flipping the script, would you care to elaborate?

Elaborate on what???? That sum of Tech's first shows in KC as a Strange music artist that he performed "Let's Get Fucked Up" w/o the RDV's and other catz (GRice, Kutt Kal, KaliKo, etc.) was getting paid to do a song that wasn't theirs??? This was b4 the Nitty incident btw. Don't you think that would piss off sum folks (Scoob, Bakarii, TxxWill, Nitty)? How would you feel as an artist/label if some "other" local catz was getting paid to perform your "signature song" locally???

As far as what part of the music i dealt with, i wrote, photographed and documented what was going on in the local scene. FYI I also plugged YOUR favorite rapper with his first interview in MurderDog Mag.... the one when he was photographed in the middle of the street w/downtown KC in the background. In front of Hyatt Regency, if you are familiar with KC....

I was more speaking about the general feel at that time. Not specifically THIS subject. Although we dont get along on a personal level, your insight is appreciated around here. The post was more of a, feel free to chime in on subjects, type post. A person with insight such as yours is appreciated around here, and a nice break from the regular speculation that occurs. Not to mention most of it is more present time stuff, not the classic shit that i personally enjoy more than more current history.

The feel I think you are trying to get at is the vibe of Tech's fans when he launched Strange? Well, the vibe was 1,000 percent support. As much as KC is a hater capital, we also support a proven winner. And Tech, was in position to run away with the gold medal. I believe all the initial skepticism that may have been there was more directed at Travis more that Tech. To put it bluntly, Travis was this "whiteboy" that signed Tech, so there was this apprehension because he came in and took over a brand that was associated with local moverz and shakerz like Icy Roc, Dyamund Shields, Don Juan, and the RDV's. Furthermore, some of the inital business moves of Strange didn't work out in the public perception. Icy Roc not getting paid for beatz, Don Juan not getting paid for beatz, RDV music being performed w/o RDV's. I mean all B/S aside, not paying for beats is a Rich the Factor hustle that Strange was trying to pull on the wrong people.....

Thats exactly what i wanted to know, i know the perception of TOG is not held amongst high standards with alot of locals, but i wasnt sure if the initial comments were just a personal opinion, or a general consensus at that time.... Or even now.

I'll break down to you my first business dealings w/TOG. I was putting together a compilation for MurderDog and I approached Strange about a song from Tech. The initial response was an immediate, NO. So after the initial promotions started w/interviews by comp artists in Murder Dog. That's when the infamous RDV interview was published. At that same time, Vell Bakardy had leaked his song from the comp which was called "Cracker". Now "Cracker" was a diss song that knocked off "Slacker". Well, to his credit, TOG, agreed to feature Tech on the comp "Kansas City King", if Murder Dog would pull the song "Cracker". Not only did he want to feature Tech, but as any smart business man he did good business w/MurderDog, so "Cracker" was dropped for "Kansas City King", and the nature just ran its course. I personally felt that the comp would've been better w/both songs, but it went above my head. Life goes on, keep it moving.....

Good to see Scoob back doin' his thang. Hopefully, he and Strange work well together. Dude's raw as fuck! Been waitin' on a Big Scoob solo for a minute.

"We went and did that bullshit Chiefs song. That shit don't count." LMAO

Damn! Didn't know Nitty got 65 years. I guess when you do what he got convicted of, you get football numbers thrown at you. Thats all bad!

I'll definitely be checkin' for Monsterifik though.
