Crhymes is the one!
The evening may appear the same at Lydia’s nightclub in the Southbay. The crowd appears heavy in all regards. Crew and girl squad deep, recent pay day pockets deep, and even in the calories considering the XXXL shirts getting pat downs through the metallic sensor.
San Quinn is the show headliner, an emcee from the Big Bay of San Francisco, and along with him came a other local acts, and all have come exclusively to join the stage with local favorite and tonight’s host, Crhymes, to send him off gracefully before embarking on his first world tour.
That’s right. World Tour, and it includes a stop over to the Big Ben, literally on the other side of the Atlantic, at an even farther bay.
In the year following Crhymes, I’ve watched him transform himself something beyond the typical growth pattern in the San Diego Hip Hop music scene.
This scene his music is pushing the Evolution of Crhymes campaign, visible on his new CD release and his new merch clothing line up. Most worthy is seeing him channel his musical development with a more active political participation community involvement including walking rally lines in solidarity with community leaders taking a stand against the surge of gang violence in the neighboring communities in the Southeast neighborhoods.
This photo series is a tribute to his evolution: http://www.starintheskyproductions.com/2011/san-quinn-lydias/
