the turkey for sleep thing is kind of a myth...you'd have to eat a whole lot of turkey in order to even get a small, theraputic dose of tryptophan. you'd be up with a stomach ache if you were to consume that much.
valerian or melatonin (or both) can be found at health food and most grocery stores...not bad for minor insomnia.
if you're going to go the diphenhydramine route (tylenol pm), i suggest you get simply sleep, sominex, or unisom...no liver-damaging apap in those.
other than those, i'd say weed and sex (with a partner or by yourself if you can't find one)...usually does the trick for me!

apparantly they both have Acetaminophen... and I guess too much of that can cause severe liver damage... blah blah blah
