Bernard Hopkins thinks MMA is gay porn

Light heavyweight contender Bernard Hopkins spoke with BoxingScene.com about the sport of Mixed Martial Arts - and Hopkins held nothing back when he expressed his feelings about the UFC craze. Hopkins told BoxingScene's Bill Emes that grown men should not be watching MMA. He says MMA is not a sport, and compared it to a porno movie. According to Hopkins, he would feel "suspect" [possibly gay] if he bought a ticket to watch MMA.

"Everybody is different. I don't want to watch two grown men wrestling with panties on. I'm from the hood, we don't play that. To me, I'm not buying a ticket to watch two grown men with panties on, sweating, [with] nuts in their face. That's not me. To compare that to boxing is ludicrous. It's a porno. It's an entertainment porno," Hopkins told BoxingScene. "I'm not wrestling a guy with panties on and his nuts in my face, and they call that a sport."

Hopkins would also tell BoxingScene that he wouldn't have a problem if MMA had an audience made up of women, but it bothers him that groups of men could get together to watch MMA events.

"I'm not criticizing people for what kind of entertainment they like. I think most of those people have chains and masks in their closets. There is something out there for everybody. I can understand if 90% of women were going to those things but I can't understand a grown man sitting there with a couple of guys watching two grown men with panties on, sweating. That's just my opinion. It's not a good look," Hopkins said.

If you're thinking of it like that. But if you aren't a closet homo, or if you aren't insecure, then no. To the norm, you know they aren't "enjoying being on the ground with another man" like in a gay way. Boxers are constantly hugging on to other sweaty men with their mouth on their opponents shoulder and chest, but everybody knows it ain't "gay". MMA fans don't bash boxing like that. Boxers do that because they feel threatened by MMA. I'm a boxing and MMA fan, but I also keep it real and call it like it is.

Well first of all, I wasn't talking about you as being one of those who are "closet homosexuals, etc.", because obviously you know they aren't being gay.

When they mount somebody, they're not mounting them to fuck them and getting horny. If somebody gets in a real fight and ends up mounting them and smashing their face in, it's the same thing. It's a good position to fuck somebody up. But you would never hear somebody say that's gay if it was a street fight. But MMA haters will say that when it's in the octagon. If somebody doesn't like the sport, that's fine. But to sit there and call it "gay" or "gay porn" just to bash it, is just silly.

Please don't be bias. You can't tell me MMA isn't overshadowing boxing right now. If you went up to someone on the street and asked them to name 3 MMA fighters, most could. Can't say the same about boxing. Again, I'm a fan of both but it is what it is. Right now boxing is going downhill and MMA is on the rise as the fastest growing sport in the world. There have been boxing promoters and experts who have flat out said "boxing is dead". I personally don't think it is.....yet. I do hope boxing rebounds soon though, thank god Mayweather came back at least.

Okay now we're separating facts with opinions. It's your OPINION that MMA is a fad, and will be on "it's way down". How the hell can you say it already is? That is a flat out FALSE statement. Look at the numbers UFC 100 did. Look at the ratings TUF is getting on a weekly basis. A couple TUF episodes ago, they set a record for the most viewers ever on Spike TV with 6.1 million viewers! It is FACT that MMA is the fastest growing sport in the world, but you say "it's on it's way down"? I try watching ufc I thought it seem gay. I put that shit on one time when we had a family party it was all mexicans they could not name one ufc fighter I had it on after 10 minutes they told me to change it to something else. they said they look gay in spanish parecen dos jotos. and if u ask them name some boxers.they could go for hours. But yea ufc sucks they might have good ratings cuz is just one company.imagine boxing being just one company it would blow them away but they not boxing is to big to just be one company.

Like I said, MOST people could name more MMA fighters than boxers right now. I didn't say "everybody". Obviously not everybody likes MMA or prefers it over boxing.

Lol. Do you know where BJJ comes from? I'm guessing you don't even know what "BJJ" is. It comes from Brazil, where they are huge on Jiu-Jitsu and MMA. Asia is also HUGE on MMA. Ever heard of Pride? Dream? Those are all in Asia. Many think Pride was a bigger and better promotion than UFC. There is an excellent training camp called the Wolfslair in UK where Rampage, Bisping, and Kongo all train at. A big part of MMA's fan base is outside of the US. UFC has been doing events in Germany, the UK, etc. where they are sold out every time. Fans over there can't get enough of it. Do you still want to try to say "MMA ain't shit"? Lol.

When naming great boxers of the past, how in the hell do you not mention Ali or Lennox Lewis???

We're talking modern day here smart guy. None of those fighters you just named are still around. THOSE are the days I miss, but they are long gone. We're not sitting here comparing today's MMA to the history of boxing.
