Aiight, Im tired of the mess I hear with rap these days. Im tired of people just having a tight beat, a catchy hook, but some sorry ass lyrics. And for the fans/listeners...Im tired of them thinkin that if a person got a tight beat, and no lyrics...then automatically he's a good rapper.
Beatz or Lyrics?? Which you would prefer when u listen to a song.

yeah if a song has a cool beat I'll let it ride even if the rapper isn't a lyrical genius, they can't be too sorry though, and its gotta have a nice hook. Outragiously bad hook will ruin potentially good songs

it's like this ese mayn...if the beat is garbage i aint listenin no matter how tight the lyrics are i just can't get passed it and i won't i dont have too...u hear the lyrics but dayum come on the beat can't be that ugly thats wats wrong with the bay these days and other coasts...if the beat is tight i'll listen to it some lyrics may be wack but you still hear him from what he gotta say from his heart and i would be like ''ah he got arite lyrics''....lyrics is like spittin game words from da mouth and shit tight beats is like attractive faces so it's like if the dude or gurl look ugly as hell but got some game most people wouldn't even want to get with that type of shit nuff said

Fuck lyrics cuz you probably talkin' some bullshit anyway. Beats are what it's all about! I mean come on pop in a CD the 1st thing you hear is the BEAT....if, the beat sucks you gonna skip tracks be4 the fool even starts spittin'!

you are in the same mindstate as me.

i made sure that EVERY single beat on my LP was banging.... but that i ride them nicely with flow & vocab & just straight ruggedness.

Its lyrics for me because the way I look at it is that if the beat is wack chances are the lyrics are going to be the same, but in the rare instance that someone does spit fire over a wack beat then I will still listen to it just because of the lyrics.

beats are more important, if im listening to someone who raps good but the beat sounds like some fucking razors to my ears then im turning it off.

but whats worse is when the beat is tight but the lyrics are awful, then its just a waste of a good beat.

MUSIC!!! that's the most important thing IMO. I don't care how tight are the lyrics, if the beat is wack, I won't listen to it... MUSIC is so rare today with all these pre-formated beats, everything sounds the same...
