Bay Area breaking mainstream

To my knowledge, the radio playlists are controlled on a national level with only a small window for regional acts. So to gain access - even if its at 2am - you must be doing something right.

Also, having bay artists, sh*t, even having a "bay sound" on the radio IMO is definitely a step forward for the bay in terms of exposure and that should be acknowledged as well.

If our local Radio Stations Pick and carefully choose Who get's played on air, then can we honestly say We The People and fellow Artists dictated or created the playlist for these stations, even at that 2 AM window...?

In reality The Bay Sound is very very very diverse. No Industry controlled Radio Station can Truthfully display this. It's not the Radio Station's job to make any Rapper(artist) a household name, meaning giving just anybody a shot. They exist to maintain a standard and to continue to Brainwash the weak minded who believe that the Radio only plays the Best Music.

But thats the thing, local reqests and local on air djs have very little influence over what gets played. (Hence the 2am slot) This is the reason why the same 10 "popular" songs are played over and over every hour and some of your favorite local artists will never be on the radio...
