I also trained with him for a few years in Thousand Oaks. I can't say enough good shit about the dude, he is a stand up guy and a very good fighter.
Bas is a legend. And I agree with everything he said...Kimbo had no right headlining a card. Period. He was and still is green in the sport, and he'd definitely be the first to tell you about it.
I feel bad for the guy really (Kimbo)...he didn't ask for any of the hype, nor did he support it, IMO.
I hope he can come back and fight, because whether you're tuning in to see him knock someone out, or tuning in to see him get knocked out...either way he's an intriguing fighter.

When people buy into Elite XC hype, they start to look for his flaws and what not. So people start hating him and comparing him to other fighters.
Then even fighters get offended by Kimbo.
But if Bas sees something in him, who am I to judge.
Sad thing is Kimbo gets too much hate as well. He is not the matchmaker, he's not choosing the fighters... its Elite XC.
They make him as the main card...
Only fault Kimbo has is that he DOESNT back down from a challenge. Plus, if they told me "$500,000" to fight main card, I would too.
But he got exposed (really, everyone has a puncher's chance in a fight). I knew he wasnt ready after his fight wid JT. He was helpless on the ground and they let him get punched for what 20-30 seconds?
