I haven't watched it yet, (probably this wknd) my homeboy said its a well put together documentary.... Just like any album thats gets brought into this forum people gonna have a opinion and be critical at every chance I will say this 'In this case its different cuz the homeboy rap DVD scene is not over saturated its pretty much untapped so DVDs like this will get my support, homeboy rap albums drop every week or so (easy to criticize that category- but fuck it Holmes keep dropping the footage.....

I'll be real, I have no intent to watch it unless I come across someone that has it & I have the time. I only say that because I've read it's long. My opinion of a documentary is a story line that has something that's going to capture the audience & hold them from beginning to end. A bunch of random footage of people talking about a whole lot of nothing is not a documentary IMHO. It's like taking a camera, film myself rapping in the street or in front of the liquor store & post it up on YouTube doesn't make it a video. That's just me. I'm not picking apart this particular project because I haven't seen it. I'm just stating my opinion on what people loosely call a documentary & a video now a days.

As far as this project goes I have to defend B @birdloco in the sense that it takes a lot to edit film. I've done it before & there is no way to execute a full on film within a matter of weeks / months. Too many people think it's like editing a music video. Just because you see people film & post up a video within a two week time frame it looks easy to do a whole film. Trust me, it's not like that at all.

It's clear most of you don't know how an actual documentary is made. They take years to film & edit. Of course it's not hard for the film maker to get excited and start letting the cat out of the bag & start promoting because in his / her mind it's coming together quick in the beginning stages. So people expect it quick as well.

The other thing that sucks about making a film or album is the people always build it up like there is a demand & at the end of the day everybody wants it for free.

And the funniest thing to me about people who throw the "dated" card or feel it should be what's happening now. They fail to understand that when filming a documentary, you capture a time period. It doesn't always have to be up to date.

When people use that "dated" line it always reminds me of this scene in Spaceballs LOL!

all that stuff is irrelevant. I simply gave my thoughts on the film, nothing more, nothing less. my review stands. Props to birdloco for putting together this project, i urge everybody to go buy a copy and see what you think. But me personally, I didn't think it lived up to the hype at all. although it had a few cool scenes/footage.

The siccness is probably the only place to get people's honest opinions on projects like these. I dont know why rappers complain about the siccness all the time. Probably because Social media is full of nothing but yes men and hero worshipers who praise their every move, but in contrast, the responses on here vary greatly.

I ordered this from Rapbay, and watched it last week. I found From the streets to the studio much more entertaining than B2B, with the only segment that I found interesting was Oakland. The out of state nortenos looked so goofy that it was almost embarrassing to watch. Ive been to Northern cali many times in my life and think that the 1st DVD conveyed the northerner lifestyle much more effectively. Cool project.. Get that $
