Baptism is a sacred, an act done to show your dedication to God. I believe a child should be christened, but not baptised at such a young age.

Baptism must be a personal decision...

You all have good points. I'm catholic and I don't totaly understand why we do certain things. But I think in the catholic religion you are baptised when you are a baby so you will be free of sin. Then when you get older you go to confession every friday so you can confess your sins to the Lord and be free of sin.

I do believe though that you should understand what your getting yourself into before you do it.

There's no way your going to understand everything. That's just the way it goes with everything. But you should have a good idea about what your doing, don't just do it with no meaning.

WHY DO I HAVE TO GO TO CONFESSION? IS THAT THE ONLY TIME GOD WILL HEAR ME?
No, but in my religion the proper way to ask God for forgivness is to go to confession. Because when you go to confession you are going before God and telling him your sins. I see it as if you are really sorry and you really want to be forgiven then go before God and confess.

Funny, because in confession, I thought you were going in front of some guy who's hiding behind a screen. Since when do I need to go anywhere to go before God and confess. As far as I'm concerned he's right here in my room. I understand that's your belief so don't take it like I'm attacking you. That idea just never made much sense to me.

No I don't think back then they would have the confessional on a friday night. We live in these times not in the past how they used to do things. This is just how it's done in my church. The Catholic Church is one of the oldes churches it goes way back.
