What's so annoying about software? I personally find it highly convenient, quick and easy to use. It saves a lot of space as well having the synthesizer in your computer, rather than a big physical keyboard or module. But anyways, if I was going to spend some decent cash on a analog synth keyboard, I would definitely go with the Moog Lil Phatty. That shit looks so dope. BTW, if your looking for a good software VSTi emulation of the Nord Lead synths, check out DiscoDSP Discovery Pro.

I wouldn't buy a nord lead if you don't already have a workstation type of keyboard. I had a nord lead 3 for a couple years, rarely used it. It's one of them boards you pull out one sound for a track. Doesn't have the typical shit a common board does. I say stack and try and buy a Roland Fanom X, or Motif ES. With that budget you may be able to find a rack version of either of those which will give you the sounds, but not the keys obviously. Not sure if that matters to you or not.

^^^^Yeah i was gonna say the same thing.... and booboo..if you gonna get an analog get the voyager....why not? It has more knobs, and built to last..the phatty feels cheap to me, but if you just want some sound then I understand......save money by getting a studio Electronics ATC a used one goes for about $500-$600....and has any patch you need as far as bass or leads....I had a voyager and I get more instant gratification from the ATC.....but the ATC is just as programmable as a voyager, and not difficult because it has about as many membrane buttons as the voyager has knobs...

Obviously the voyager is better, but that shit cost a grip. That's why I recommended him the Lil Phatty. The lil phatty is still hella expensive though. Like your saying, the ATC racks are probably the wiser choice.

software is shit

but if you want a good keyboard, i would suggest getting one with more than 4 octaves
How is software, "shit?" There's A LOT of very good software synths out there. Of course emulations will never be as good or sound the exact same as the hardware counterpart, but there's a lot of great original softsynths out there that get a lot of praise. Have you ever heard Sylenth1, Surge, Zebra2, FireBird, PolyAna,...all original software synths that kick ass. That Poly Ana might possibly be the best sounding virtual analog synth, shit sounds so warm. The future of music gear is leaning more towards software based engines. Obviously there's always going to be physical components like controllers and such, but as far as creating the sounds themselves, software will take over. I say why not, it saves you a hell of a lot of physical space, as well as money.

BTW, inasense206, if your looking for a pretty good controller, check out the M-Audio Axiom49. Shit is dope. It's really sturdy, keys feel nice, has knobs, sliders, buttons and even 8 rubber drumpads.

software is good. definitley more convenient, cheap, more options then hardware........
but ill never be more inspired by looking at a computer screen then looking at my mpc.. and knowing i got a badass machine. thats inspiration alone..lol
but anyways i wouldnt get a triton i think the sounds have been raped to no end.
maybe a motif rack + midi controller like booboo says axiom49 is sick.

lol, seriously you think it sounds Chicano? Chicano shit usually doesn't sound that funky. I think it sounds like your average 90's WC beat. First part sounds mobb-ish, with the long sustained lead.

Listen to this new one:

I think you'll like the bassline patch. It buzzes with nice analog warmth.
