The 1007 bar on Soquel is dope. It's not very far from downtown, super mellow, a couple pool tables, darts, shuffleboard, and cool ass bartenders.

If you need kid-friendly shit, then there's basically the boardwalk and and the movie theaters dojasak mentioned.

Or you can just take a long drive up HWY 1, stop at the beaches along the way (which are generally less packed than those in SC. Or go to Ano Nuevo, which is like 20 mins out of town. Also, UCSC is in the forest, so you can take a walk through the woods there, but the smoke from the hills might make that a little less enjoyable.

a better idea would be to have an excursions forum... to deal with travel, or just some other random ass places to go... day trips, club hopping, etc

let's face it... an alarming percentage of these bitch ass 90's babies can't pay for no got damned plane tickets let alone a hotel, so it would be kind of moot to dedicate an entire forum for that purpose alone

get at whenever u come out here...elks..that aint my side of town...try to stay away from there if u can....mayne we gotta few spots...joey porter of the miami dolphins has a club called cabana palms out here...shit is coo its in the suburbs...got wings and thangs..older beezys bethere wed-sat...got the firehouse....nonthin but white beezys every night...got a couple coo happy hour...that are cheap belive me when i say cheap...we got are downtown but it got played out i use to go 2 or 3 days a week....then we got the nile they usually have concerts every weekend..too short gonna be there this week....then we gotta 16 movie theather in the hood...3d theather..wut can beat that lol....but stay away from the elks..especially if u a outta towner...

What's wrong wit elks? From what I've seen in ma relatives pics, it looked like it was poppin! Or is it one of those spots where black people be fuckin up? Or is it where the bloods go? I've noticed that eastsiders are crips out there. Well I just survived 4 days in the #2 murder capitol so why should I be scared to go to a club in bakersfiels wit ma fam? But yeah mayne im definately gon hit u up. We can blow some good if I don't quit smokin by then but we can propose a toast lol!

if u a outta towner they fuck wit you though..most of your rellys must be from the eastside then huh.....if u got fam u will be alright...yea...the closet i been to inside was in the parking lot lol..i went up there with 1 of my blood homies...lol...that was the stupidest idea ever..well we got westside,eastside and country boy crips...and were all seperated by a street...but yeah mayne i dont smoke but we can get a bottle and get on some beezys....

all my family there is eastsiders, mid city crips and spoonie gees. i was in the elks a month ago and niggas shot up the parking lot at like 11. party didn't get too crack at all. i been to the elks 4 times and it got shot up everytime. if that was oakland that shit would have been shut down

Thanx to all that gave a shout out to Grandmas passing.

Yea, just like I remembered, Bakersfield is STILL hot as fuck. My cousins is from Stroller? and Country Boy? Some shit like that, I remember they all used to be poppin some East Side 805 everytime thyey would come through. We had the funeral over at Cooleys on California & Chester.

Bakersfield got alot of memories, from trying to slang coke on Cottonwood Rd, to sneakin in the football games at BHS. To hangin with my cuzzos in the projects shootin ball.

Good place to eat out there is called Sea Breeze, BOMB ASS FISH. I get the sole, Red Snapper, and Orange Roughy.

I ended up going to Santa Cruz, stayed in the Hampton Inn. Went to the beach the next day. It was cool, the children had a good time, and thats all that matters to me.

Next "adventure" I think I want to go see Yosemite........

I would take Santa Cruz over Bakersfield any day of the week.....L.A. well...it's nice out there..i love l.a. cuz i been out there plenty of times and i had lots of fun out there..

but i would never move to L.A. ...the bay is my home..
