WOW THIS THREAD GETS BETTER AND BETTER...WHERE TO START HMMM..
OK SO THE SPANOS FAMILY RUINED LT? ITS ALL THEIR FAULT? so if brees didnt want to leave here than why did he? lol you fools wanna make it seem like the chargers made the biggest mistake in the world.....lets not forget that brees totally ruined his shoulder when he was here. Dr. James Andrews said he didnt think Brees would ever play again. All the chargers did was make a smart business decision....i didnt see a line of teams waiting to try and sign Brees either. Only two teams showed interest, the dolphins and the saints...New Orleans took a risk and it paid off for them, doesnt mean all these other teams fucked up(except maybe miami)
For one its called TEAM CHEMISTRY something they lack...you dont get rid of your franchise players best friend especially when hes a qb...more importantly LORENZO NEAL...so basically youve taken your star players on and off field support system from him...business or not...peyton and brady and favre in green bay and you can go to other sports...they dont get treated like that...but in san diego? nothing but disrespect
and the one dimensional pass bullshit is EXACTLY WHY THEIR PREDICTABLE ASSES WERE PUT OUT BY THE NEW YORK JETS OF ALL TEAMS
The bolts are probably top 2 or 3 most talented teams in the league but they lack chemistry and discipline and that goes to the management

the chargers treated dude like shit pretty much the entire time he was here...they gave him no O-line and didnt give him the chance to develop then put in fucking midget doug flutie(who has been known to ruin the spirit of a young qb by backstabbing)aj wanted phillip in and he didnt give a shit what his franchise player had to say about it..i probably wouldnt have such an issue with all of this if i didnt know some of the people involved

Going back and reading your post again, I just lol to myself. For one, we wouldnt have had to draft Rivers if Brees was playing well before. Also, MARTY who wanted to draft a QB as top priority. He was the coach of one of the NCAA Senior Bowl teams, and was ranting and raving about how much he wanted Rivers....even more than he did Manning. Shit the fans wanted to draft a QB....specifically Eli Manning but we all know what happened the week before the draft. So it wasn't AJ.
The Chargers offered Brees a contract. He was a FA coming off MAJOR shoulder surgery (some doctors said he'd never be the same again), and no teams other than the Dolphins and Saints showed any interest. The contract we offered him was a more incentive based contract seeing as how he was coming off the surgery. The Saints had no QB and NEEDED one while we still had Rivers whom we had already drafted and invested money into. Yet we still offered him a contract but CHOSE the Saints. If you watched espn today, their was a segment about his "comeback". It was quoted that most doctors said he was a "poor investment" and he had a 25% chance of making a full recovery. So people, PLEASE stop with the misconception that we made a mistake by going with Rivers.
By the way, take a look at Brees stats his first 4 years as a Charger then compare them to Rivers first 4. You would be surprised.

i was with you in rooting for the colts to win for the EXACT reasons you said earlier.....your exactly right though...Saints took a gamble on Drew and it paid off,its not like we cut him and there was a riot to get Brees.They bet on Drew and he stepped up.bottom line.
