Anybody here ever heard of a group called Outkast?

And I agree that 40 has 5+ classics, but my ghetto report card is pretty fuckin far from a classic. Breakin News is shittin on mgrc and thats not even a classic.

Good Insight, I did say artists, but this is a GEneral HIP HOP right???

I think its pretty hard, Nas comes to mind, 2pac comes to mind, but I cant really say either have 5 solid classics.

But what really prompted this thread was The "SPICE-1 Comeback" thread in the bart forum. Because although I was the first to say how SPice has dropped a plethora of bullshitt since 2002, I think

Spice-1-Self titled
187 he wrote
1990 Sick
Amerikkkaz nightmare
Black Bossalini

are all classics to me. I grew up on Spice-1 but I still think he's underrated as far as legacy goes, being from the bay, he gets outshined by e-40( who I think u can make somewhat of a case for 5 classics) 2 pac and Mac Dre.
I've saw Lupe Fiasco, Game and Redman give him props in interviews.

I liked the eazy e answer and dj quik answer as well, again these are personal classics for me.

Stankonia sucked

and Speakerboxx/The Love Below can hardly qualify as a classic IMO no matter how many units it sold, because there's too much wack weird shit on it

Outkast. Every album is platinum, most multi-platinum.

speakerboxx/love below is classic cuz it won a grammy for album of the year. how many rap albums are even nominated for that? stankonia was also grammy award winning. I thought idlewild was raw, cuz it wasn't just rap. the music on there was actually musical (as it should be since it was a musical)

but then again they are hands down my favorite musicians, so I'll always argue their cause.

I agree with you but your reasoning is horrible.

The first 5 2Pac albums are all classics, even though people tend to forget about the first two

2Pacalypse has one of the most unique sounds a hip-hop album has ever had
2pacalypse is still his best record to date by far. It is only one of three Pac albums i own. All his other shit is average to me.

thats easy...

ZERO artists

5 soild albums,maybe...classic? FUCK no
Best post so far in here.

Black Bossalini was terrible...it was his start-to-downfall album. 1990-Sick was good, but not close to his previous three.
