It is not so much that I like a West Coast sound, but when I become a fan of an artist, I expect when I purchase their next album I will hear more of what made me a fan in the first place, instead of the big switch, and this is happening more and more.

REAL TALK. Consistentcy fell off a while back. Alot of these niggaz is using drugs and no one seems to mention that.

Some Crown City shit, like Xl and Clinton Wayne, they stick to the script. There is other artists I'd like to mention, but why get excited over albums that wont come out anyway.

i got production from Focus of Aftermath, Ecay Uno, XL Middleton, F-Major... etc.

so even if by some bizarre out of this world... circumstance you aint feelin my spitz

WestCoast needs to bring their production side of the game back. It's what helped create us in the 90's and if we brought it back, it would help distinguish us from the rest. Right now we only have the Southern influenced sound, we need more variety and it would be GREAT if the WestCoast brought back that FUNK. I'm not neccessarily talking about "gangster rap," they just need to bring back the production techniques and sounds, synth basslines, Electric Bass, piano, strings, guitar, chords, softer jazzy synth leads (not trance leads like the South).... You just don't hear that musical shit anymore these days and it's because the production game is lacking IMHO. I also feel if the production itself is good, it'll help bring out some real vibe to the lyrics, instead of the stupid ass barking and gibberish we hear these days. Production is HUGE IMO, it's just as important as the lyrics because it helps create the foundation and vibe for the lyrics to sit in. There's a reason why Tupac was so dope, because his production was so dope as well. He had spits no doubt, but I highly doubt he would do the same on a Hyphy beat, Crunk or Snap beat or whatever the fuck kind of Techno-Trance influenced beats there are these days. The vibe just ain't the same.

any thing associated with sick symphonies;psycho realm,street platoon,fly cat,bacardi riam has a mixtape coming out soon,legion of slugs has a good ep out.
cypress hill,heard funk doobiest has an album coming out this year.
anything from strong arm steady.anything from dialated peoples
ice cube,other than that nothing else that really stands out,atleast the artist mentioned are putting the quality of thier music 1st.
