Are downloads really killing the music industry? Or is it something else?

i always edit...force of habit...
but yeah the only thing thats stopping downloading is streaming. youre able to get what you want, when you want it, and it dosent have to go on your computer.
for instance, to save myself 670 mb i might stream a video instead of download it. i might have downloaded an entire movie back in the day now i can just watch jackass on youtube.
