Exactly!! A few of my friends graduated already n they are living at their parents house bein a baggy boy at a grocery store.... A job is a job but I didn't go to school 4 years to be a baggy boy n get paid minimum wage.

Also wit an MBA, ur more likely to find a very well paid job. Isn't that the goal?? It is for me.

Money doesn't bring in happiness but it definitly helps ALOT! lol.

it seems like a Bachelors Degree is like a high school diploma these days...
This is somewhat true...... but

Bachelors + Experience > Masters + No Experience

I thought about getting a Masters... 60 more credit hours or something...
Why stop there go for the PHD.... Then you could call me Dr. Cyrus:lick:

What happens when all these people just stay in school forever because the economy sucks. "Raising the Bar" in regards to education standards for employment but then the chicken & the egg scenario comes into play. You need experience to get a job but can't get a job without experience. :knockout:

no thanks fuck school I'm done:siccness:

Good shit if you can get employment in your field while finishing your degree.

You > the competition

I asked my professor for a letter so when they ask for references i just hand it over with all that bull he would say. It has his info so they can call him too if they want more info.
The truth is they never call i was working as a HR intern and we never did unless they were borderline about hiring you.
From now on i recommend you build better relationships with your professors go to office hours and just bullshit they normal people and they become real cool with you giving you that A instead of B+ plus all the references you want.
Sometimes they might say NO bc they had you and gave you a few A's but they don't know you personally!!!!!

I would always single out and target professors at the beginning of the semester who were especially respected in their fields or had particularly impressive list of accomplishments.

Bullshit with them after class, ask questions, go to their office hours, overall pretend like you really care.

That way when you ask for a referral, you are not one of the other 100 people who they have never spoken with and don't know who the fuck they are.

A little extra effort to make yourself stand out will really pay off.

I've been in accounting for 3+ years. Started with 1 month schooling and still don't even have my AA. Real world skills and drive>piece of paper.

I am still in school though and I do plan on getting my CPA.
This is not 100% true. Many professions REQUIRE a "piece of paper" to even be looked at the right way. Would you want your doctor to not have a "piece of paper" that shows they know what they are doing?

Do it man I have my old dept chair on my resume as a reference. Most professors would be glad to help out unless they just dicks and in that case fuck em.

For 'specific jobs', yes, that paper is required. But to succeed in general requires skills, determination, hard work, etc.
I CANT BELIEVE I AM AGREEING WITH THE KID, BUT FOR MOST JOBS THESE DAYS, YOU NEED THE PIECE OF PAPER TO GET IN, THAT DOESNT MEAN YOU ARE GOING TO BE SUCCESSFUL. TO BE SUCCESSFUL, YOU ARE RIGHT, YOU NEED ALL THE ATTRIBUTES YOU MENTIONED, BUT TO GET IN, YOU NEED THE PIECE OF PAPER OR THEY WONT EVEN TALK TO YOU.
