2 0 sixx, I'm not trying to find out if god is real or not, i'm just curious in the book itself. I'm not looking to find out if it's real or not, i'm just want to see what it is about this book that has captivated millions of people, for thousands of years. But thanks for the link anyways.

I'm directing this at you because you seem to be the most educated on the topic. I was just wondering as someone who has VERY VERY little bible knowledge. Where is a good place to start reading the bible, what version, why is there so many different versions. I am not trying to find god thru the bible. I would just like to read it and see what's up with this book that has been translated, and reproduced more then any other book in history. I don't know greek or hebrew but i'd like to read a version that keeps it as real to the original as Possible.

Thanks.
The more versions you can get a hold of, the better.
There's different versions becuase everyone's tryin to make the perfect translation,
unfortunately no one version is with out its flaws.
The King James version is believed to be the best but it's hard for most to read cuz its written in that "Thou, thee" old English style. You can pick up the New King James version which is the version that I read. Just do some research in some of its incorrect translations and you'll be alright as long as you are aware of them. (pick up a copy with a concordance)

When you do get a hold of a bible, start off by reading the gospels.
It is important to read these first because they deal with Jesus's life, thus His Word.
Go here to read any version online:

Hope this helps,
Miggidy

i thought hitler actualy had poession of the spear or the spear thought to be the one that killed jesus ? i thought he had it sent to him after he took over austria?
I watched a Discovery Channel show on the spear which was used to poke Christ on his side when he was on the cross.

However they could scientifically they could not prove that the spear was the actual spear which it was claimed to be. However they had a high powered microscope that could see there was a nail inside the spear. The nail was claimed to be the same nail used in the cruicfixion. However they couldn't prove that scientifically, but they did date the nail to the same time period, of Christ.

Hitler did have it for some time. When the U.S. troops took over Germany they found the spear in a basement in one of the Nazi bunkers. It's in a museum now in France or Italy.

I wanna say Cesar had it for awhile. And I know the first African Knight in History had it for awhile too, I wish I knew his name.

Hitler probably believed in the myth that such artifacts would give the owner some kind of power.

And its for this reason that the templar knights were searching for the ark of the covenant....
Actually that's the reason why everyone's after it....
