I'm in agreement with having too much bass being annoying. I see(hear) people driving around with their bass WAY too damn loud. when the bass drowns out the rest of the song, its just plain annoying. i have been driving around with my subs turned to -2 volume while listening to K.O.D. for this exact reason. It gives the songs just enough kick that you can feel the bass, but you can still hear everything else going on in the song.

I really need to get a new car. my door speakers no longer work because the wires are cut in the door jam and I'm too damn lazy to fix it. So as of now, I've got 2 Pioneer 6X9 3-ways in the back, 2 10" Pioneer subs, and a 900 Watt Pioneer amp being run by a Sony 52X4 deck (can't remember model number). I like my old Sony deck better. The one I have now lets you adjust the speaker timing and shit like that, but doesn't let you adjust the bass and treble as much. All of this is thrown into a '97 Dodge Neon that I paid $200 for.

Neon - $200
Sony deck - $120 ($399 normal) off E-Bay New
Pioneer 6X9's - $80 for the pair (Best-Buy Clearance, normal was $119 i think)
900 Watt Pioneer Amp - $100 and a $20 Best-Buy gift card (Floor model discounted, normal was $200)
10" Pioneer subs X2 - Bought off Craigslist with a carpeted enclosed box for $60

Total - $360 for the system, $200 for the car (Plus a $20 gift card)
