I've always been interested in becoming a pharmacy technician. I have my AA and was considering going back to school to get my BA, but being a pharmacy technician caught my attention. Anyone here work as one and have any sort feedback for me?

honestly every person I've been around that have said they are interesting in a career as a pharm technician has been or eventually turned into a drug addict.

not that has anything to do with you, but because of that I guess I'm curious to ask why would you like to pursue that path? money? chemistry and knowledge? something that you see could work out in the long run? if you have any thoughts about easy scripts or cutting corners i would advise against it.

You could help many people to get there meds and since its a pretty universal job you could probably move and find new work with somewhat ease.

I'd say just do it. I have a friend who's going to school to become a Pharmacy Tech, she only needs I think one more year. She says she loves it and her pay is going to start at around 40K a year, I believe. If not more.

pharmacy techs make like $15-$20 an hour from what i know. Its not the best career
You crazy? when they has to dispose of 1,000 Vicadin because they expired...they have the choice to come up to like $200/hour. Thats one of the best jobs.

I can relate. One of my exes was a pharmacy tech and he used to prescribe himself weed and all these other meds. Not to mention, sell it as well. Kinda funny how he used to sell drugs to pay for his education to become a pharmacist. I'm sure he still does it, though.

without working at a hospital or union job i doubt you could even get 18 a hour.

but in that regard its kinda like a photographer, you could either be working as a photo journalist earning 20 gs a published photo or be a family portrait photographer at the back of Sears. it's all what you do with it.

where can pharm techs write their our scripts? now some pharmacists on the other hand just steal pills and adjust inventory.
