Jive just hooked me up so I'm bangin' it right now for a quick feel of it.
1. Triple X (Not feelin' it at all.)
2. Get That Cheese (Bangin'. I can't understand whoever said the beat was garbage. That shit is slump.)
3. That's Right (Simple, slow beat. Nothin' special, but not bad. I like Pimpin' Ken at the end. "I'm for this prostitution just like the constitution")
4. The Old Fashioned Way (Don't like it much, don't hate it either. Extremely weak chorus.)
5. Quit Hatin' Pt. 1 (Diggin' the beat and everyone comes hard. Not much wrong with this one. And I'm VERY glad to hear Vidal from The Delinquents representin' on here.)
6. Quit Hatin' Pt. 2 (Not feelin' part 2. Beat is trash. Only good thing is Pimp C, but the beat sucks so bad I'll always skip this song.)
7. Lollypops (Ehhhh.... Skip.)
8. Female Players (Beat is cluttered, but it works I think.)
9. Cali-O (This is the type of shit $hort should fill his albums to the brim with. Unfortunately he seems to include just a couple tracks like this on his recent albums. If he did a whole album with this vibe.... classic album. $hort, 40, Legit and Banks all ride the beat nicely.)
10. Pimp Life (Very basic SLLLLOOOOOWWWWW beat, but it's all that's needed for this track. It works. All the guests fit perfect. Especially Devin The Dude and Bun B.)
11. Call It Gangster (I don't care what anyone says, I like Petey Pablo so I'm diggin' this track. $hort shines the most here though. Beat is so-so.)
12. Set Up (As political as $hort gets. Talkin' about how drugs and guns infiltrated the inner city. I like it when talks about something other than bitches. I like this one.)
13. She Loves Her ($hort's attempt to gain some new lesbian fans. Skip.)
14. The Movie (I always like hearin' George Clinton so that's a point for this song. Other than that though, there's not much to say about this one.)
That's my impression while listening to it for the first time. Obviously I didn't talk about lyrics too much 'cause well... it's Too $hort. You already know what the lyrics will be. Overall I dig about 7 of the 14 tracks. The rest I wish he would have cut and replaced with songs that had the same vibe as "Get That Cheese", "Cali-O" and "Pimp Life." To me those are the strongest here. This is nowhere near his best album, mainly because a good amount of the beats were sub-par.
