I don't think I'd like the matte black finish on an older car though. Then it would just look old and like its in between paint jobs...

On the newer cars, you kind of get that its intentionally painted matte.

GOT MY 96 SUBURBAN PAINTED FLAT BLACK (MATTE, WHATEVER) ON A 6 INCH LIFT KIT WITH BLACK AND POLISHED ALUMINUM WHEELS. FUNNY SOMEONE MENTIONED INFINITY SPEAKERS...I GOT THOSE TOO. BUT THAT SHIT WAS LIKE 5 YEARS AGO. NOT TOO MANY PEOPLE CAN PULL IT OFF. I LIKE THAT FLYING TIGER PAINT SCHEME. THAT SHIT IS HARD! (NO HOMO)

It always looks like it's in between paint jobs. Even the BMW on the first page looks that way.

That's the whole novelty of the paint job being done like that.

Before it was super popular to paint a car with flat primer, people thought like that.

It's time you realize that if it's driving on the street in flat primer, it's probably a color choice and less of an in between kinda thing.

that matte black looks like some military stealth technology finish. it needs just a lil gloss, like half a coat of pearl paint. pearl paint matte black. its not bad at all, it feels a lil outdated.

I hear you man. I'm just saying that if I saw a 2010 BMW 6 Series that was painted matte black, I'd know that it was intentional.

If I saw a 1982 BMW in the same exact color, I'd wonder if it was an unfinished project. Not everyone driving around in black primer is going for that look.

Either way, I like the look...but only on newer cars. Just my flavor.

MOREBASS is right.. the flat black look only is cool if the car its on makes you look like you obviously can afford a regular paint job but opted for some rare shit.

flat black on an old car = project car
