for the record, i think kingpin skinny pimp is from memphis. but memphis got much heat.
tear the club up thugs was good
playa fly has tremendous heat
tommy wright III needs to get his shit remastered, one of the best out of the south no question,
eight ball and mjg's early stuff (yes the did move to memphis after i think the comin out hard cd. tony draper started suave house in texas)
criminal elament is bangin
5th ward boys are slammin, can't believe no one said them
i don't really like ugk all that much.
lil keke is one of my favorites
i can't believe no one said b.g. either, he is a legend in the south
c-loc
dirty(great cd if you ain't up on game. got album of the year in murder dog)
i can't think of any else, and i know all these ain't from texas before anyone says anything
nah, eightball and MJG are from memphis, but moved to texas later. they had an album that dropped before Comin Out Hard which came out locally in memphis called "Lyrics of a Pimp" (it got re-issued in 97)

do u got both criminal elament cds? they're both bangin. i probably like their 2nd one a little more (since its longer) but the first one got my favorite song from them "Life Of A Youngster."

C-Loc's old shit is jammin like the first Concentration Camp compilation and "Whatever"

Tommy Wright III is MIA, and i dont know what he's up to. his old stuff sounds like shit because it was all recorded on a 4 track. his old underground tapes are jammin though.

Playa Fly is dope too. i think he's still locked up. he was supposed to drop "FLY2K" 2 years ago.

and yeah 5th Ward Boyz is tight.

Point Blank's first 2 albums were great. NIP is cool if you like horrorcore rap.

there's more too but im tired of typing. texas and the south got alot of dope shit, but in general, its mostly older stuff. most of the new rap comin out the south sucks.

That first skinny pimp is the shit too, but i never really liked any of his other stuff, except a few songs

i thought ridin dirty was okay, but i heard their newest one is their best so far. i think their best thing is collabs. that song they had on Mr. ice cream man "break um off" was the shit, maybe the best track on that cd. bun b also puts down major heat on alot of southern folks tracks. i don't know if anyone picked up that nationwide comp. that too short put out, too short had a song on there with pimp c that is knockin, real smooth track. there is alot of heat down south, meaning the deep south and not so. cal.
