That's definitely credible then. Maybe i should have never listened to the album, sounds like i would have liked it more.

People were asking if they thought it was any good and i gave my opinion, i would hope in your part of Cali it wasn't all about blatant dick riding and some people came honest with their opinions on the music.

Possible some people have standards that are too low, maybe mine are too high, either way i had HOPED (not exactly expected) a better album.

We're the only station in our market radius that's playin his new material (or any for that matter) and I've lead the way. Plus we actually chart it. I was playing Muthafucka waaaaay back even before we got our copies of it. You can talk shit about the Midwest all you want, but we've been supporting West coast Hip Hop hard for a long time.

On a whole, there were exceptions, but the beats were not all that nice, the hooks were real weak (didn't expect em to be great he's known for lyrics not being a catchy song writer, but some of them were straight up corny and bad) and the subject matter wasn't anything new or pushin his creativity (high expectations for him).

I like Strong Arm Steady and liked em all before they were together as Strong Arm Steady, that's why i had hoped for better from them on this first MAJOR release. And having been an Xzibit fan for a long ass time I've been wanting more from him and like i said HOPED for a better album.

I like the album more than his last two efforts, but that's not much of an accomplishment other than to see he's starting to get going in the right direction, just not far enough yet. But it should have been better for someone that's "leading the way" for the west coast.

AND SOME OUTSIDER COMES IN TALK'N' BOUT "AWWWW IT'S WACC" WHAT THE FUCC DO HE KNOW BOUT THESE CALI STREETS AND MUZICC???
YA KNOW...
Technically, XZIBIT too is an outsider cause he aint originally from California... :ermm:

DON'T GET IT TWISTED, NO ONE IS HATE'N' ON THE MIDWEST. BUT HOW THE HELL CAN YOU SAY:

"I like the album more than his last two efforts, but that's not much of an accomplishment other than to see he's starting to get going in the right direction, just not far enough yet. But it should have been better for someone that's "leading the way" for the west coast."

Don't get it twisted. The fella is saying that he didn't like his last two albums. Neither did I. He is saying that X is on the right track. I haven't heard the new X album. I am unsure whether to grab it or not. I like his flow and his first 2 albums still get play at home here. I never grabbed man V machine either, I heard it at the store and didn't waste my money on it. Restless was rubbish and usually once an artist goes mainstream for the dollars you lose that artist for good. They have a wider audience to appeal to - an audience of thousands/millions. Lets face it by not dropping more 'hollywood' type songs he is hurting his pocket.

He is obviously not returning to his roots for the money. Without Eminem or Dre on the project sales will decline. There are alot of people out there (In Australia there are many) that will see the name eminem on the album and grab it - they can play that song to there cheesy friends and feel good about themselves. Just the fact that eminem or dre or ... is on the album might prompt the people in the mainstream record stores to stock it. They might know who X is but they never got his first 2 albums in stock because these people wouldn't buy them.

This is the first MAJOR release from a westcoast artist who is repping the westcoast in a while. X is blowing up. I seen him at the European MTV awards, hosting Pimp My ride and shit I saw him on CSI playing Tim Large the other week. I can't think of any album this well distributed out the westcoast reppin the westcoast since Snoop's first album. I am sure there are some exceptions but I can't think of them right now.

I like Xzibit on the mic. I am not a fan of his last 2 albums and the fact that this is being compared to his first 2 and not his last 2 give me hope for this album. Just my 2 cents.

AND ALL THAT WORK X IS DOIN YOU MENTIONED ABOVE MAKES UP FOR EM AND DRE NOT BEING ON THE ALBUM, EVERYBODY IN THE WORLD SEES THIS NIGGA ON T.V. WHETHER YOU WANT TO OR NOT, HE'S THERE.
LETS SEE HOW MUCH THIS ALBUM SELLS COMPARED TO HIS LAST ONES,
I BET HE GETS MORE!!!

This thread is hella ignorant. Im digging the new X to the Z, I defintely think its the hottest CD thats been out anywhere in the last few months. X took it back to the underground and he got a hella tight crew to back him up. Production on there is off the hook too, its good to see Sir Jinx producing again. What some of you are saying is rediculous. I cant feel a CD, or know what the hell im talking about because Im not from Cali? I grew up listening to CMW, Cube, Quik, Eazy, SCC, ATL, Ice T, etc, I know what a tight west coast cd is supposed to sound like. Also, New Mexico is not west coast, show me where that state touches the pacific ocean!?! I dont mean to come at anyone sideways, so dont take this post the wrong way, I just had to throw in my 2 cents on this, stay up.......

YOU MUST BE THE IGNORANT ONE, NO ONE IS SAYING THAT YOU CAN'T FEEL A C.D. CUZ YOU AIN'T FROM CALI, WHAT WE ARE SAYING IS THAT YOU'LL NEVER FEEL IT THE WAY WE FEEL IT, THERE WILL BE SOME CALI LINGO IN THERE THAT YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND, THERE WILL BE SOME BEATS THAT YOU DO NOT LIKE, BUT IF YOUR CALI INFLUENCED THEN THAT'S DIFFERENT, I MEAN IF THE MAJORITY OF THE MUZICC YOU LISTEN TOO IS WESTCOAST, THEN YOU MAYBE ABLE TO FEEL US, BUT BASED ON YOUR COMMENT, THIS WHOLE DISCUSSION JUST FLEW RIGHT OVER YOUR HEAD!!!

SO WHERE ARE YOU FROM???

AS FOR N.M.

TAKE A LOOK SMART GUY, MOUNTAIN REGION IS WESTCOAST!!! YOU GOT THE WEST, MIDWEST, AND THE EAST!!!

^^^Ok, I feel what your saying about the slang and everything, folks from the westcoast can have a deeper appreciation for the CD since they speak the same slang and are living the lifestyle portrayed on the CD. I think that is just a small part of the CD, and its wrong to say someones opinion of the CD doesnt matter based on where they are located. I've heard CDs that represent cali to the fullest, but the beats are garbage and the lyrics are lazy, am I a hater for calling this crap? Ive also heard CD's where the beats are tight, lyrics are weak (Rodney O & Joe Cooley Fuck New York comes to mind), that I consider classics because it got that cali feel to it, and I can relate to what they're saying even tho the way they're saying it is kinda weak.

I am from Calgary Canada, which based on your logic is the westcoast too.

^real shiit thaar, iv'e always listend to westcoast shiit, and i think of myself as veryy cali influenced cuz i only been over there a few times, i feel alotts shiit from the streets and yo right, one or two subject matters i aint got a clue about, although i still appreciate it n' shiit.
there's a couple of groups/peoples here i can losten to, i usually don't like the u.k. style, but they rappin' about what i do at the weekend and shiit i go thrugh on a daily basis with the lingo we use and the shiit's just good to listen to. group from england "The Streets" are tyte, the dude aint no MC, but he's a great story teller, i heard a couple of tunes on the radio & i coped his album and loved it, even though some of the beats was wack it was something i can relate to.

anyway, on the subject of tha thread, i got x's album - i still aint watched the dvd yet, aint had time but the only thing i don't like about it is the big barkin skit... it was funny the first time, but it get's fukkin anoyyin.
fav song has to be Criminal set... the beat is crazy!! and ride or die.
beware of us is fukkin heat too and that and Saturday night Live they both got the best hooks... jelly roll's da shiit lol.
