i dont get u socal dudes.... in the bay this song slaps..... bitchez in the club be lovin this shit, they get real nast.... and we down wid the bitchez.... i guess u guys aint.... plus u cant hate quik...

There's nothing that slaps about this song dog. $hit is weak plain and simple, Quik is much much better than this cr@p. I seriously don't get YOU guys. Having grown up listening to real quality rap music like Bay Area Mobb Funk, how the fuck can you guys like $hit like Hyphy and all these little crappy songs? No offense, but you guys are the ones that are trippin hard dog. I personally want to hear some real music, I'm getting sick of these simple 1 finger beats with techno sounding sounds. That song didn't even have a bassline to it, shit is hella weak. Bitches down here get more excited when they hear a classic G-Funk track or Classic Bay Funk song.

Seems to me that folks in So Cal are more reluctant to hearing new fresh sounds...everytime I'm down there visiting...its the same old G-Funk P-Funk sound on the radio...and believe me...I'm a fan of that too...but it does actually feel good to hear something fresh.

Seems like a lot of folks are stuck in their ways. Its like yall still wanna hear shit from 1993. IMO, the reason why LA fell off the mainstream map, is because the music didn't evolve and progress like other regions did...like The Bay for example, in that they recreated their whole sound, and moved onto something fresh, and something that was original.

With that said, I actually think the song is catchy. Don't get me wrong...I'd be mad as hell if Quik put out an album without that FONK on it.

I'm open to fresh and new stuff. I have to. I been listening to rap since the Sugar Hill gang. Since then, I've have heard MANY "new and fresh" songs. I'm diggin some of the hyphy shit. I'm diggin a lot of the south shit(not as much as I used to though) and I'm diggin a lot of the Westcoast shit thats new and fresh. I'm a big time Quik fan,and I have never NOT liked something by him until now. This shit is not catchy. But the nigga still dope. You can't please every fan all the time...the only thing that matters is that some people DO like it...and it is getting radio play. Props to him on that.

I'm open to new fresh sounds as well, but the thing is a lot of it is GARBAGE. It's hard to take some of this new shit seriously, that's the problem I see with it, I just can't take most of it seriously. Yeah some of it is good for dancing and all, but I think that's it and when I'm a bit faded I really don't give a fuck, if it has a catchy beat, I'll get down to it. Other than that, I won't listen to it or buy it on my spare time. I personally can just relate a lot more to older shit whether it be G-Funk or Bay Mobb Funk, because there's actual stories being told for the most part, real shit. Now a days there's some silly ass shit being said lyrically and some wack noises in the beats as well. Yeah it has it's places, but not in every damn song as it seems to be. Nothing stands out differently. The 90's were just str8 HARD all around, from the West all the way to the East, some real Shit. Motherfuckers are just wierd these days, their trying way too hard to be different. Mother fuckers trying to look hard n shit as well, yet they look like Reggaeton artists. haha, jokes.

And as far as Radio stations in Socal playing nothing but G-funk, hell nah, alls they play is this new trendy shit. LA fell off the map cuz everyone started jocking the South & their Crunk, simple as that. People heard songs like Youngbloodz - "Damn" and people just loved it. From then on, it's been a complete mess with all the same ass trendy shit. Nothing is hard anymore, they hardly ever use real instruments anymore, everything is all synthetic sounding. That's cool for Trance & House music, but not for Rap. Trance music has been using that famous fat "Sawtooth" lead sound for years, funny how some Rap producers act like they discovered it. That's why I still prefer to listen to older Rap, shit is more RAW sounding, dirty n grimey, much better lyrically and a lot better musically. Whatever happened to the piano, guitar, bass guitar, chord usage, background strings, synth basslines and leads from moog type synthesizers,etc... real shit.

house music developed from hip hop rap music, a lot of electronic music genres came from hip hop. Come on you remember Afrika Bambatta wit all his electro bullshit? Besides they got rap over house beats, that shit called hip house.

i feel this shit the most... 90s music was the hardest... all i used to slap a for the longest time was 90s shit... for the very reason u said about this shit... but what u dont realize is what a wiseman once said to me, and it forever changed my life.... "if you live in the past, you're going to get left behind".... 90s music, to me, is still the hardest era of rap music ever.... but what many people dont realize is that it is 2007, not 1993... the 90s is a long time ago patna... and the west died long before youngbloodz "damn"... and bout the radio down south... it's a damn shame, cause a couple of years ago, i was down there and they played hella westcoast classics and new shit... it seemed that every three songs was sly boogy's "california" remix... it was the shit... i felt like i found my home... a warmer weathered placed that supported local artist on top of the whole westcoast, new and old...then a little later the bay started playing more local music and i went back down south.... and all they played was songs from mtv.... ever so sad...
