to answer the question. My father, his ex girlfriend, and her son where out at the store together. Travis (my father's girlfriends son) was like many other drunk country boys in the fact that when he got drunk, he wanted to fight for just about any old reason. I wasn't there for the inciting action, but apparently all my dad said was, he wanted to take a shower before we all went out to eat. His girlfriend said let's just go now, he said...why the hell can't it wait? I'd like to shower first. Travis was all butt hurt (He was 25 y/o, about 5'11 tall and about a solid 200 lbs.) and got in my dads face. My dad was like, travis, you're drunk, just stop. One thing led to another, and my father told me to get my stuff, and we were leaving (we all lived together) Travis started pushing my father. My dad shruged it off, til travis hit my dad. My dad dropped his briefcase and said "OH, you fucked up now!" Speared him like Goldberg onto the lawn, and they just wrestled around for a couple minutes in the lawn, even tho our neighboors across the street were having a party, which stopped to watch all this. My dad had a lil bit of a black eye, but it was the first time I'd seen my dad in a situation like that.
My dad, even to this day doesn't seem all that "tough" to me, but it really showed me that he isn't about to sit there and let anyone punk him. He's a smart man, and like I said above, there is really no reason to fight most of the time, and he did his best to not fight him, until he got hit. I remember thinking though, that if travis didn't get off of my father, I was going to get on Travis and put him in a submissive hold that we would likely both regret because I could've permanently fucked him up with my knowledge of martial arts and pressure point manipulation. It is a shitty thought to think that the man you've always looked up to, even when he was a bastard to you, getting his ass whooped. It does deflate his greatness a lil in your eyes. but in melo's situation, that is an "unfair" fight, and I wouldn't really trip off of it
