theres two different cards they sell ones in blister packs and ones without the ones without are sold at walmart and they have to swipe them like a phone card to activate thats actually what it says on register the ones in blister packs are already active

the only ones i see come in a box with a headset or they come in a big ass plastic thing, and there is nothing for them to scan on the card.

the box with headset would be the starter package the big ass plastic thing is the blister pack then there's just the cards hanging on the rack thats the ones they have to swipe

why did i buy xbox live from bestbuy and they didnt scan shit. all did was input the numbers and i was ready to go.

You're trying to tell me that the price for the card came out of thin air? They scanned your card, or else it wouldn't show up on the reciept.

they scan the UPC, Universal Product Code, whichs brings up the price. there is one UPC for hundreds of thousands of xbox live gold cards. they scan the upc and that is it. 1 upc for 1,000's of cards. so if one card is active they are all active. the scanning of the upc doesnt unlock the card, its already unlocked.

7-11 used to have the 1 month and 3 month Xbox Live giftcards cards right next to the candy. I gaffled one of the 3 month ones, went home and scratched off the back of the card with a key to get the barcode. 3 fun months of free Xbox live.
