I had to go once and it was a trip because the case they were trying was a dude I used to hang around in mid school and his dad was my basketball coach......... I seen his dad when I was walking to the restroom and was like "dude looks familiar" and when we was in the courtroom they were trying his son it was a trip so I ended up not getting selected as one of the jurors


his case was he was a coach for JV high school womens ball and ended up sleepin with one of the girls and she filed rape charges and shit he was probably 23-24 at the time

Haha...

Aight...so I had this two Mondays ago...they actually sent me the notice last year in September...but I postponed it...until this month...well...I didn't really wanna sit there for hours doing nothing.


So I showed up....there were like 200 people there...this was in Redwood City...and I just walked up to the rude ass front desk lady, and said that I had a felony...and she said...write your name and sign the paper you came in with and go..

I was like...go where...?

She said...home.


Coo...plus I got paid 8 hours through work...so I just bounced and had a day off...LOL...

The first two times I just ignored the notices...I guess I got lucky because I heard that you can get in trouble for not showing.

i love jury duty, take time off from my job with payed. more like a lil vacation, and in the courts of l.a theres always hot bitches (attorneys, jurors etc...). it could be better if youre choosen for a criminal case, it gets interested. about the letter my advice is response to that shit, cause there serious about it. show up and try to dismissed yourself and most likely youre out....

OH SHIT!! Last night I was doing my take home quiz for Criminal Justice, and I was wondering, what if they chose me to be jury for a fellow homeboy. That's a trip. I'd probably get them to try to impeach me, and say I have biased views, cause.

don't reply. can they PROVE you got it in the mail? did you sign something when you got it saying, "i received this so now i'm responsible"?

i got that shit in the mail before....2 times...1st time i said i couldn't go cause i live 2 hours away from the address they sent it to....2nd time, they said they didn't care, so I had to get a new driver's license and send them a photocopy to prove i don't live there...

next time...i just won't do shit...they cannot prove that you ever got the mail....for all they know, some asshole took it from your mailbox, or some stupid fuck at the post office misplaced it.

^ They can't prove it, but I think they'll still hold you accountable. I think the only excuses they'll take are emergencies, and school. Or if you have a felony, your exempt.

dude, they interview you before they ever put you on a jury. they'll find out if you know the person, or if you have any sort of bias.

you wouldn't have to "try to get them" to do shit. Once they found it was your homey, or you're bias, they'd let you go real quick...or i at least hope they would.

^ Yup, you can also check online. I did, and they basically say...if your number is between ________ and _________ you don't need to appear. Then if your number is betwee ________ and ________ you have to appear at 8am.

1. tell them you don't speak english

2. tell them you are against the death penalty

3. tell them you hang out with criminals

4. tell them you hate cops

5. you are a felon yourself

6. you are anti-american

7. you hate president bush

8. you hate the laws

9. you don't vote

10. you are not a citizen

and you will get out of it..

I'm a felon..so they never ask me to be part of that shit..

I understand this, but the only people that actually let them do that, are fucking idiots.

There is no way in the universe that they can prove that shit was put into your mailbox, and that you took it out, opened it, read it, and then decided to not do anything. Just shred the fucking thing and they can't do anything.

If they try holding you accountable, tell them to fuck themselves because you never got anything....

The post office is fucked up, they lose mail, the state can't fine you if you don't get your mail, and unless it's CERTIFIED mail, you don't have to sign shit, which means they can't PROVE anything either way.

I talked to my step-dad about this shit, cause people that he works with get jury duty all the time, but they have a notery where he works, so the dude just signs off on shit and says that the employees are needed too much and they can't go.

Also, my step-dad is the one who told me the shit about not replying, and they can't prove you got it....

Tell me how they can hold you accountable for the post office, "not deliverying your mail"? I mean really, what are they going to do, talk to the postal worker that drops off your mail, ask them if they put the jury duty envelope in your mail box, or what?

Yeah fuckin right...
