I dont know about that....im not from Cali i grew up in washington.. And though Dre's older 90s music was listened to by some kids in my town. a lot of people, including myself, knew who he was but didnt listen to his music unless we was ridin with someone who did.. it wasnt till we seen that Treal TV around early 2004 that Dre began to be along with Andre Nickatina as probably tho most listened to underground rappers by the kids at my area.. along with him coming to a party at one of my friends houses after a concert in Olympia,WA and the Treal DVD really is what got people from my area on to his newer music. I dont think he would been as big in washington if it wasnt for that dvd... I remember being at a party like a few days after Dres death and everyone was in the living room bumpin Mac Dre and thizz dancing and at that time the only way we would of known what thizz dancing was was the Treal DVD.. i never even saw the UGA dvd til about 2005 or 2006 and i listen to more Bay rap than anybody I know. Not a lot of people there even listen to yukmouth. when I talk about him to someone I always gotta say " yeah he's The dude who did that I Got Five On It song" so people know who he is

Yuk needs to focus on his albums and not the past. I was never I big fan of Mac dres thizz album and never bought any but I was a big fan when romp records was going on, I couldn't count how many times the romp compilation got jacked from my ride.

Yukmouth can't get over the fact that outside of recording "I got 5 on it", he is totally irrelevant to anybody outside of the Bay area of Cali..........ijs...... Regime??? Some well known South rappers were on the UGA DVD so of course that draws interest from folks in the South plus it was through Rapalot that it was put out. Thizz didnt have no distribution deal like Rapalot does come on now.

YUK has a catalog of music that not too many rappers in CALI or outside of Cali and touch. From the LUNIZ days to all his solo work plus UGA vol. 1 is still the sh it!!! Him and BO THUGLORDZ cd plus numerous his guest appearances always make a song better. I don't know a thing about his personality other than what I've seen on dvds but this dude has worked with everyone from PUFFY to a cat like KILLA KLUMP and he picked up the torch where PAC left which was to unite the ghettos thru music. On an underground level YUK did a good ass job.

EAST COAST: PUFFY, BIGGY, THE LOX, DMX, BANG EM SMURF & DOMINATION, etc...

MIDWEST:TECHN9NE, YOUNG KYOZ, AMPICHINO, STREETLORDZ, BONE THUGS, etc...

DOWN SOUTH: SCARFACE, ZRO, TRAE, BG, DEVIN THE DUDE, 8BALL & MJG, etc...

WESTCOAST: everybody except SNOOP & DRE. He had MC REN on THUGGED OUT when no one was checking for REN. MC EIHT, KING TEE, CBO, KILLA TAY, MARVALOUS, LUNI, DOGGPOUND, CROOKED I during/after his DEATHROW deal, 151, the whole bay area...Who else besides PAC & SNOOP can actually say that they get love from all four corners besides YUK plus overseas??? I'm waiting

MAC DRE even was on the dvd and I'm quoting, "YUK gets the party started!!!" Yall niggaz don't recognize the real. YUK could be a real life semi asshole or not but I know that he took on giants in rap game like MASTER P, SCARFACE, TOO SHORT, GAME when they all were at high points in their respective careers. The nigga ain't never start claiming no colors or none of that ish. He's done songs with all sides from the CRIPS, BLOODS, LATINOS, and white boys. He makes one statement about "helping" boost MAC DRE'S visibility and yall act like he said he made DRE. Yall funny. DR DRE help boost SNOOP'S visibility. That doesn't mean SNOOP would not have become a star. It just means that a helping hand goes a long way. Ask every current or former G UNIT member if it's true or not

In the long run its how you have held yourself , music & business . Yukmouth was really solid early . Then the albums w/ everyone else came some were dope some sucked . OH WELL - I don't listen to his music anymore (no diss) just not my steeze unless its older stuff . He has always kept himself at a distance , his first partner rapping in locked up on some weird shit . People have jacked him everything GOOD / BAD has happened . He's still around though ...... I wouldn't trust nobody / I don't think he does .

Mac Dre is dead!! What is the purpose of saying anything like that? In my opinion (Stretch) there is no reason to speak on your dead homies success or failures in any interview to make yourself look good. No matter how you shape it, the purpose of those statements were to get credit for some part of Dre's success. Whether he meant he "made Dre's career or "helped Dre's career" to me it was outta pocket. It is what it is and he might not have meant any harm but if you let someone talk enough eventually how they really feel will come out.

and yuk took a loss from all them rappers you named. bc they make better music and sold more albums and made more rap money. Yuk music isnt up to par no more and he just all bark no bite.

I'm kinda surprised how mad people are about this. I didn't watch the video to hear how he said it tho. I can tell you from a out of state perspective I know a gang of people who got into Mac Dre from UGA. I heard Mac Dre songs before that on compilations and shit but didn't like them. Yuk is personally responsible for every Mac Dre cd I ever bought. Keep in mind MDs CDs werent in stores and like I stated earlier, bay rappers whose CDs were in stores didn't have him on them. That is until Yuk put him on something and now everyone hates him for it.

People are upset because that is like E-40 and Spice 1 saying that they are responsible for Tupac's success because they put him on their albums when they were going platinum before Pac blew up and introduced him to the world. The man is dead. And has been dead since 2004. You do not take credit for your dead homies success. The only person that is responsible for the Thizz movement is Mac Dre. I don't care what name he was given by whomever or what DVD he was in. Dre built his fan base by going city to city and connecting with the people. Mac Dre has more stories by fans who smoked with him or he came to their house then any artist I know. For every 100 fans Mac Dre had at least 2 have a Dre story. That's how he became so big and why Thizz meant so much to the fans. Period dot com.
