If you guys have ever done X or Molly, and the only thing you listen to is shit like the Thizz dance, then you are doing yourself an enormous disservice. Snort a line of Molly, and listen to some electro house on a nice big sound system like at a club, and your mind will be blown. And if it isn't, you got sold some shitty drugs.
i don't wanna fuckin listen to thizz dance when im on drugs or even worse listen to techno it doesn't blow my mind im 90% sure of it but it would probably make me end up in the looney bin. i'd rather listen to some spaced out mob music , better yet ever listen to eric burdon and the animals thizzed out or santana ?

Ya I liked electro before it but would never choose to listen to it. I think the experience of listening to it while bombed put it in a new perspective for me. The thing that I think you guys can relate to with electro is that its like a sped up version of those funky west coast rap basslines that we all love. There's a lot of house music and trance shit that I hate though even when I'm bombed so I can see how u would hate it.
Here's an example of a song you guys might like and it has Murs rapping on it. Listen from 55 seconds to 1:40.
I understand not everybody will like it, but have an open mind. I think one of the reasons I have come to like it is because since I have started spinning it in my sets now, I get way more into my performance as a DJ because the crowd gets amped from it and I feed off of that. That's something that not all of you will be able to relate to obviously.
thanks for not getting offensive or defensive. it's all good. i see your point of view. i lived with a few djs that loved that stuff. i jus never got into it. even blended a few songs in the tables. im more into the whole cut in the beat that hip hop had more than the let two songs blend together type deal with electronic music.
either way i have some sort of respect for it, just never got into it.
popping a pill and going to a trance club, laser shit, spacey music, fine females going nuts = another planet type shit, your mind gets lost in the music and floats.....
but at the same time, when this first came out... I remember blasting the shit out of it at home and popping two pills, then went for a walk in the rain I could hear that shit play in my head the whole time

Oh ya I don't take offense when people rip on house/techno. What bugs me is when people just automatically call it gay because it is techno and have never given it a chance. I can tell you have been around it and know about it so that doesn't bug me at all because you have an opinion based on your experiences.
I got a roommate that fucking hates it and rips on me all the time for changing up my style as a DJ. But as a DJ i think it's one of the best things that has happened to me. I consistently have at least 4-5 people I don't know come up to me at the end of every night when the bar closes to tell me they loved it. The other weekend i got an applause when I cut the music out at the end lol. I got compliments before, but not like this. And don't get me wrong, there's still a lot of hip-hop in my sets, I just find a nice balance between the 2 and most of the house I play is mainstream rap songs with house beats under them so it's still all centered around hip-hop.
Before this I would just kinda be up there playing the music, scratching and mixing, but didn't really have a presence up there. I guess you could say I was boring if you were to just watch me dj. Now I'm animated, dancing around, getting the crowd pumped up with the music and shit. It's just a whole new energy that I didn't have before as a DJ. I feel more like a performer now as opposed to the guy playing the music.
yeah, having a presence as a dj is one of the most important things you can have next to the songs you play. i think thats what people take away from the experience. when i dj'ed alot of people would just tell me that a certain song made their night. but ive seen songs like eminems 'brain damage' (before he blew up.) clear the whole fucking dancefloor. learned alot from that night.
and the bitch that drunkenly exclaimed to me 'CAN YOU PLAY SOME HIP HOP???' while i was playing the alkaholks feat ODB 'hip hop drunkies'...i just looked at that bitch like she was from mars and went back to the tables.
people who dance all night are a little easier to make happy than the bar flies and the wall flowers that rap shows bring with them..no one dances till the fuckin mac dre songs come on now...or its midnight and people are perved.
its got to be kind of cool to have dancers hanging on your every move....rap djing is those few elitist fucks in the corner bobbing their head arguign about wu tang, a few drunk bitches dancing with themselves cuz guys aint dancing with them, a few people looking mystified, and a few old people that shouldnt be there.
and someone who just wants to hear gangster rap all night. hes usually an ese.
lol@ wall flowers, that describes us when we go out but I usually grab all the females and hit the dance floor then the others come and bop there heads lol
And what you described sounds like a few clubs down here, but I fucking hate dj's who play gay shit with TREBLE FULL BLAST and no bass, i mean fuck me dead you need to feel the vibe from the bass what kind of gay shit dj/club doesnt have bass????

For sure man. The sound system is key. If you're a mobile DJ playing rock and shit like that you dont need subs and all that really. But if you're any sort of hip-hop or electronic dj then subs are vital to your equipment. Keep in mind though that it might not be the DJ's fault that it is that way. A lot of clubs own their own sound systems and club owners don't know shit about sound quality and what's necessary. So the DJ is just playing on their equipment and has no choice.
