I got my EVO from sprint I would have to go return it to the store n go preorder it at Best buy
the thing doesnt even come out until July 11th so Ill be stuck without a phone for x amount of days cause my 30 day policy ends July 4th

I know verizon does this, not sure about any other carrier. Shitty thing is you have to take your iphone to an Apple store.

Yeah, I have to go to Verizon tonight and get my phone replaced. I didn't brick it, the USB port was defective.

At least I won't have to worry about that leaked 2.1 bullshit anymore.

Is 2.2 out for Eris yet?

Its not out yet for the eris or droid officially. But the droid is way easier to root and Froyo is the shit on my droid.

I'm running the official 2.1 now. I'll root the Eris when 2.2 comes out.

My gf's phone is still on the leaked 2.1, but she doesn't know shit about phones, and won't care.

When you root the incredible you can get a custom rom with 2.2 on it
and if you wait for the 2.2 itll take longer to find root.

I'm confused by this whole root process, for Evo and in general.

Is rooting just doing the unrevoked method which roots the phone and it done? Is this halfway of the full root process

But whn I wa reading the guide and apart from the unrevoked method you had to add some rar file ls to sd card and then add a Rom to it? What's the point of this? Besides diff. Layouts?

Its the process to gain root
its pretty much the only way to obtain root for the EVO
all the steps are the process bro
they wouldnt make the steps if it weren't necessary
