Sure I would, especially now that he lost so much cred with me over the durian thing. I figure the stuff he eats must not be that bad if he can't even down the durian.

I mean really he only takes two bites. How hard is that?

I know he makes more than I do every year for less work and a much cooler job. I'd take half his pay and still do his job.
Everyone has something they don't like to eat. To his credit he said he's ate it 14 times but just doesn't like it. Says it reminds him of dirty feet!

With the pay and all that stuff, I agree, but seriously man it takes a rare bread of human to stomach the shit he has eaten!

I can garnette some of you have eaten pussu nastier than some of the shit he's eaten.

The part that gets me is when he eats the eyes, beating hearts and blood.

Side note, I saw on Dr Oz last night that Durian is really good for you. Not only is it high in vitamins B C & D (i think), it also is supposed to help treat people with mental health issues.

Part of what would make it easier for me and what I think influences his ability to eat the things he does are the people he's with. A lot of these cultures to turn down a gift of food is pretty horrible. When food is so scarce and precious for people and they share it with you it is hard to say "nah i don't dig on no bugs man". I also think that people sitting down to share a meal is a really important experience and sharing food can be like sharing ideas.

So I think he's a lucky man to be able to go to the places he goes, meet the people he meets, and even to eat the things he eats (strange as they are) and then to get paid for it . . . sheeeeeeeit.

I dont know...but I figured the louder he smacked meant the more he didnt like it..

Side thought: I too now use the words "pungent" and "gelatinous"

As far as I know everybody in Asia eats with their mouths open. It is normal there.
I seen the Chinese and Thai people here eating with their mouths open and I've been in several parts of Indonesia (which by itself is as big, if not bigger then Europe) where also everybody eats with their mouths open...

I think this goes for more 'remote' and distant villages/places.

Durian is really bad for your cholesterol though. So it's not as good for you as you might think.

I tried to find the whole clip but here's a part of it..

First I was laughing because he put his whole face in the durian to smell it, but the smell is so strong you can smell it from a mile away.

Then the dude says 'I am the king of eating weird stuff'
The local dude replies 'So, I am weird huh'
At this point I expected the local dude to stomp him in his face whahaaha
