I think her band is more responsible for that old school sound/feel. They're dope as fuck...especially the drummer...really has that vintage feel. They're called the Dap-Kings.

Its kind of fucked up because for Amy Winehouse they basically took the whole concept from this lady Sharon Jones...yeah...she's an old ass butch and could probably never make it, due to her appearance/age...which is probably why they took Amy...and basically substituted her in for Sharon... But they make some good ass music.

Hell yeah man, their a sick ass sounding band. It just sounds perfect, nice and vintage. Their recording methods are probably oldschool which helps give that vibe further more. It's a shame music don't sound this soulful anymore.

its too bad, cause she is a fucking dope artist. but people need to remeber, to excel at something you lack in other areas. like most physically gifted people (athletes), are not the brightest/smartest humans. and very intelligent humans usually have little to no athletic ability.

when an artist dumps themselves into the music or painting or what have you, and they are unique or extremely gifted they lose basic functions in life. its very rare that you find a mega star or star in general to be a commoner if you will. most artists who express themselves deeply through music are depressed humans.

long story short, its almost like the best at certain things make a deal with the devil to get there and forget they have to pay up for their success.

hopefully i didnt get too weird on yall. just she makes me put a lot in perspective.

i don't even want to know what this sharon jones character looks like, because she would have to be something in which a pack of starving werewolves would retreat in utter terror from in order for amy linehouse to be a welcoming alternative.
