This list is the only reason AMD is dropping prices. I also prefer Intel...still waiting on these cuts anyday now. The Q6600 is what I have my eyes on.

If it's a dual core cpu...then measuring performance in terms of GHZ is is misleading. You can have a 1.6ghz Pentium 4 and a 1.6 ghz Core 2 Duo and the perfomance of the Core 2 will be much different. L2 cache on the chip plays a very big part in performance.

right now i have a AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-52.... from there could you help me out more..... im pretty good with cpus but when it comes to all the parts and shit im kinda brain dead

to answer your question NO. if you have an old computer. your motherboard probably not support these chips or the type of RAM or amount of RAM required to run them.

lol...I thought you were speaking of a desktop at first...I wouldn't dare advise someone to change something i a laptop. I'm not saying your pc is bad or slow. I'm just speaking on terms of prices...shit...I'll snag one of those myself. I see you say the Tl-50. Thats decent. Today's Fry's ad has the TL-56(other specs= same) with a 200GB HD for $749.

The one listed for $549 is the TK-53. But still ...neither one of those are reflecting the current cuts. Next weeks ad and the week after that should be good. They are decent laptops...don't get me wrong. Sorry for any confusion.
