I see a lot of negative comments towards rappers on here basically stating that they suck because they are old. So because a rapper gets older, I am supposed to turn my back on them and say they are wack because they are older? I guess I've always believed in a thing called loyalty and respect. I realize that some of the artists who have been in the game for many years may not make great records. But I also realize that the reason I started liking the artist is because they made such a classic album and it's difficult to top yourself or even come close when you achieved near perfection many years ago. An example would be Tha Dogg Pound. I see many negative comments directed towards them, saying they're old, past their prime, wack, etc. But when you make an album as classic as "Dogg Food", it's pretty damn near impossible to make one as good or even better. Yes, I realize their recent albums are not as good, but I'll still support them because they still make the kind of music I like.

no. fuck what other people are doing. shit, look at too short, andre nickatina, e40, mac dre wasnt all that young either. once they start doing it for money though is when they are wack. usually when the artist is younger theygot that hunger for fame an try new shit an once they older they care less.

you're supposed to hate them when they blow up and other people find out about them. that's what I do. You gotta be cool and only know the un-knowns. O, and you have to say that you knew about an artist b4 any1 else did, too.

Everyone gets their 15 minutes of fame. No other album can top an artist's 1st. It's your choice whether or not you want to listen to them.

Some people are hella against Ja Rule, which is funny because those same people hating are the one's riding 50's style now. It's all gimmicks, trends and styles. People love riding the bandwagon.

For some reason I can't take rappers like Mack 10, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Snoop, pretty much the whole N.W.A., Aftermath era serious. Which is why I'm really picky on if I want to listen to their music.

Rap is the only genre of music where the once fans, shut out the artist.

For real though, you don't have everybody and they mama trying to become the next biggest Country singer, or the next biggest Rock group: Like we have em' in rap.

Rap is the only music that actualy has a culture, but the most hatred and disloyal fans.

We see The Rolling Stones, The Eagles, Led Zepplin, Willie Nelson, Quincy Jones (who produced his greatest album of all time "Michael Jackson's THRILLER" at age 50) etc etc...still loved and considered icons in their genre of music. And came out with albums every 2-3 years, but if a rapper is gone for six months, his / her career is considered over. And once rappers hit their 30's they're considered old to many people. Do the math.

Then again, like I said before...rap is not producing timeless music as them other genres. Yes, far and few inbetween a good album, but that's nothing at the rate that rap albums have been dropping since the mid-late 90's.
