You decided to go with the c-port then homie? How's it treating you? It's probably going to be my next purchase...

So far So good... The initial install was a pain in the ass. I reformatted my drive then gave it a go. Problem was Snars Wave profiler which incorrectly picked my latency settings... Caused a few crashes.... The Optical is the bomb... 24-Bit Audio sitting on -12 to-6 DB without peaking bumps, and once the beat goes through Izotope to the Sound Forge 16 bit Dither the beat has good seperation and the highs arent squashed like witht he old Cool Edit mixes..

Ive recorded some vocals using a combo of my Aphex 107 and the Unbalanced pre's on the C-Port... Ehh Im not sure about the two... Im shooting toward the RNP, or the 207, or getting the Avalon <<< Save up for that 1....

The 4000B is a flat mic.. You get a steady tone with Low to medium voices so Im pretty happy. I think with a better mic cord and a better pre Im in Hogg Heaven....

For $350 with the 25ft optical cord its a steal and with only 4ms latency its all good.

Would you mind hittin me with the info for where you ordered it for $350? (you are talking about the STAudio C-Port DSP2000, right?) That is a nice price... The cheapest I've seen it for is $400, and I wouldn't mind saving $50.

Got it from a Forum listing... I crossed my fingers and trusted PayPal to come through for B..... The unit was barely touched when I got it.. Guess I got a lil lucky on this 1.

$400 is what I saw it for. The cable alone is at least $50-$65

As far a quality... I think this unit comes with it. I dont use the AD converters (only for vocals right now) Strictly 24-bit for the beats all the way to disc....

Try the ST audio website... People who dont have the patience like I did to get the thing working in ten minutes sell there shit brand new.....

Good Luck...

Oh ya you can drop the links... I think I got everything.... Let me know how the pads and or the S effects are coming through.... Ill email you a sample of the sound tommorow... Been busy relocating... Late.

Here's a recent pic:

From Right to Left:
- Akai MPC2000
- Korg Triton (bottom keyboard)
- Yamaha DX7 (mid keyboard)
- Korg MS-20 (nearly the PHATTEST analog synth ever made)
- Macintosh G3-300 (used for light sequencing-256Mb RAM, 2x Burner, Mac OS9, Studio Vision Pro, Reason)
- Two Mackie CR-1604 Mixers
- Sony Portable DAT deck
(in the rack below desk):
- Roland MT32 Sound Module
- Peavey SP Stereo Sampler
- DBX 166a compressor
- ZOOM 1202 FX unit
- Opcode Studio 3 MIDI Interface (for the mac)
- Roland/Edirol USB 2-port USB MIDI Interface (pc)
(back up on top):
- Alesis Monitor ONE's (2nd series)
- Technics SL1500 Turntable (worth nothin compared to a 1200, but it spins)
- Fostex RD-8 ADAT 8 Channel Recorder
(below the left desk):
-PentiumIII 600Mhz, 512Mb RAM, ATI All-In-Wonder video card, RAID Array (60Gb), ADAT PCR Optical Interface Card, 40x Burner, Windows 2000/Windows98, All Sonic Foundry Products, Fruityloops, much, much more...
-PentiumII 233Mhz, 256Mb RAM, Dual-Head Matrox G400 Video Card, High-Speed Internet Proxy Server/Local Network Gateway, 12x Burner, Windows 2000/Windows 98.
-Alesis RA100 100Watt Amp
-Kenwood 3head Cassette Deck
(not shown in Photo):
- 5-pad Electronic Percussion Kit w/ Dauz Dual-Zone Triggers
- Aphex Trigger-to-MIDI Converter
- Roland Juno-106
- Fostex 2016 16-Channel Line Mixer
- A cheap Bass Guitar
- Gateway 2000 Solo Laptop
- Yamaha DD-5 Drum Pads ($25 drum-trigger MIDI wonder)
- Sony MDR7506 Headphones

Sorry for the long list, i figured only the major pieces would be noticable in this pic...i guess i've been accumulating this shit for some time now...funny thing is, the thing i use 95% of the time: the PC's. Ever since I discovered FruityLoops and Reason, my Triton and MPC have largely been ignored :( . (sorry, they're not for sale though...heh)

keep up with it!
