I think you're too used to Madden and NCAA, you trying to run out of the pocket with your QB, or some shit. I can understand if you said there weren't enough features, but you really don't think the gameplay is any good? Can you be more specific? What about the gameplay do you not like? My only guesses is that you're a passer, and don't like how APF is focused on the run, as real football is. 75% of football is run offense. You should be running about 2 out of every 3 downs.

It's closer to 55-45 for most teams.. Some teams actually pass more than they run.

Indianapolis: 39 Passing Plays, 42 Rushing Plays
Chicago: 29 Passing Plays, 19 Rushing Plays

New Orleans: 52 Passing Plays, 12 Rushing Plays

Passing: 231 Plays - 57%
Rushing: 173 Plays - 43%
It seems to be high in passing, but I've never actually tried putting together stats like that. But, no way is football 75% run and 25% pass.. Maybe in the 1960s.

It's actually high in passing because most of those games one team was playing catchup and didn't have time to pass (Bears behind in points to Colts, Saints way behind to Bears, etc.).
Playoff stats aren't usually the best, but yes, you're correct, it's usually around 55% to 45% pass/run. Some teams run more, but it all depends on the team.

If you don't like it, you don't like it... Just never heard anybody straight up say the gameplay is garbage.
I might have been a little off on my numbers, but it's still nowhere near the 80-90% passing that I see regularly on Madden.
Side note, Is it just me, or are the graphics on NCAA 08 worse than 07? Did they do that to get it to run at 60fps?

for every 100 links you post of people that hate it, I can post 100 of people that love it. Every rating I have seen for APF and NCAA 08 have all recieved the exact same rating, an 8 out of 10.
Game Informer gave both games an 8, Official Xbox Magazine gave both games an 8. IGN gave both games an 8... see the pattern there? If Madden gets higher than an 8, I'll be surprised.
Hell, NCAA 08 for the regular xbox got a 9...

The irony is that Visual Concepts (the people behind the 2K series) used to create the 16-bit Madden games for EA.
Frankly, that's when the Madden series was actually good.
Ever since Madden was commisioned to Tiburon, it's been mediocre.
Not bad, pretty good actually, but never great like it used to be.
The Madden series has never been able to fully transition to 3D polygons.
For this, Madden just sucks compared to the 2K series.
And EA sucking even harder as a publisher/developer is another story of its own
