He was in fact in the Hitler Youth when he was 14 and later became a soldier for the Germans. There is no disputing that. The excuse is, however, that he was young. They also say (which cannot be proven exactly when this occurred) that he was forced into the Hitler Youth, but there is no way of actually confirming or denying this. However, thousands and thousands of people from his town and across Germany refused to join the Nazi’s any many think he was old enough to know the wrong doings of the Nazi’s.
Regardless if he was forced or not it still does not hide the fact that he was a Nazi and the fact that the Vatican would even consider an Ex-Nazi as Pope is simply preposterous.
In addition, the Vatican did in fact support Hitler, Mussolini, Franco and other Fascists regimes throughout Europe and in Latin America and recently covered up their role in the Holocaust and their profits made by the Nazi war machine.
The simple fact that this Pope was a Nazi and knowing the
Vatican’s history of supporting Fascism and right-wing policies should tell you exactly what the Vatican represents.
