@mcleanhatch....
you didn't read my thread.
should all white schools be allowed? the question is irrelevant in this case. the "white" cluster of people is not yet considered a minority in this country, nor have white people been a riduculed body of people who have been historically been discriminated against by a greater force. white people are the dominant force in this country. white people exist in droves everywhere across the united states. therefore, white schools also exist everywhere. though they are not labeled as such, it is fairly easy in many communities to assure the whiteness of a school by segregating into suburb communities and making it hell on others that try to penetrate that community.
the school in question may be a "gay" school, but i'm sure straight people can go there if they please. i just doubt any would want to except your occasional fag hag. black schools also allow people of other races, but the school is geared toward black folks, so many other races either don't go or would feel uncomfortable going to only be surrounded by black folks. white schools do exist though they are not called "white" schools-- black people and asians and mexicans are "welcome" all day long by law, but the actual execution of attending a school like that makes it a horrific experience for many a minority, therefore many opt for a more diverse learning environment.
the point is, an all "white" school is redundant in many cases, because a lot of kids of grow up a situation where they are the only "other" in the class....the only black, the only asian, the only mexican, the only gay, the only midget, and on and on and on. therefore these people often tend to
1) hang out with each other in the cafeteria (if, god willing there is another one of their kind)
2) create groups, clubs, schools and/or associations that allow them to be around people like them
3) inter-marry with other people who understand the "otherness"
Are these 3 things true in every instance? No. Are they generally true? Pretty much. People want to congregate with other people like them....like-minded, like-raced, like-educational background...other people who understand what it is like to be different in a white, straight, male-dominated society.
